Dear Colleagues, We would like to bring your attention to our future NIKON Super-resolution Confocal Microscope Demo (Sir Alexander Fleming Building; 15-24 May 2023). https://www.imperial.ac.uk/events/161521/nikon-confocal/ It is an excellent opportunity for you to test the new advanced imaging system and to generate a lot of data for free. Dear users, The Easter college closure period runs from Thursday 6th April until Wednesday 12th April inclusive: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/human-resources/leave/college-closures/ FILM will be closed too, so you must have the appropriate permissions in place if you want to access the microscopes. If you come, please make sure to clean objectives and turn off the microscopes at the end of your session, even if someone is booked after you, to ensure systems are not left on for the week in case someone cancels at the last minute. In addition to normal lone worker access permissions (needed for weekend or evening access) you will also need College closure day access permission. If you don’t have this in place already you need to fill in the attached form and send to Sue Francis s.francis(a)imperial.ac.uk by Tuesday 4th April to ensure it can be processed before the Easter break. Please ensure you fill in the forms correctly including clear reasons why you need access and when (forms that say “I need to work outside normal working hours” or “I work late into the evenings” or “I need access due to option 3” will not be processed). Dear Users, A reminder that tomorrow there is a seminar on real time intravital microscopy from Dr Pilhan Kim https://www.imperial.ac.uk/events/160369/real-time-intravital-microscopy-iv… 11am-12pm Room 113 Sir Alexander Fleming building In this talk, IVIM Technology’s All-in-One real-time intravital two-photon and confocal microscopy system will be introduced. The imaging system has been extensively optimized for in vivo cellular-level imaging of internal organs in a live animal model for various human diseases. It can acquire real-time multi-color sub-micron resolution microscopic images in a live animal model with automatic motion compensation, enabling direct imaging analysis of complex cancer immune-microenvironment consisting of various immune cells, stromal cells, vascular cells, and extracellular matrix.
