Hello fellow Judokas!
As BUCS is fast approaching with less than 3 weeks to go, some extra training will not hurt! Every Tuesday at 12 till 1, there is a 'Circuits' session in Ethos which is completely FREE, so I suggest we all go for the next 3 weeks to work together and improve. The circuits involve cardio-based stations as well as power and strength stations, so its a good all rounder for those with weight issues, and for those who would like to improve their general fitness.
So, if you choose to come TOMORROW, just say at the desk that you are going to 'Circuits'. Every Judoka is welcome, you do not have to be entered into BUCS to participate in some circuit fun!
See you there!
Judo Love,
Suzie xx

Hey y'all,
So there is this competition organized by Brunel University on the 31st of January. Great chance to train for the upcoming Nationals!! I do not know how big the competition is going to be, it is the first time they organize one like this, so I say we give it a shot, a bit of practice will do us good.
Anyone willing to go to this competition send me your name, grade, licence number, weight and date of birth. There is no minimum grade required to enter this competition, so lower grades and especially beginners are encouraged to come and try it out.
Regards,
Guillermo

Hey all,
This is a reminder about the BUCS competition:
This is the BIGGEST, most important and one of the most exciting competitions of the year.
It will be held on 21st and 22nd of February in Sheffield, so we are aiming to travel down there with a mini bus and stay at a hotel (hopefully Sport Imperial will pay for some of our fees).
The idea is to leave London on Friday around 1-2pm.
We are also aiming to enter teams for the team events held on Sunday; this is an individual and a teams competition.
If you are interested then please email back with your weight category and grade by Saturday (24th) night.
There are limited entries per competition, so places in the BUCS team will be allocated based in commitment in the club trainings.
Judo love,
Suzie

Hey all,
I hope you all had a fantastic break and a happy new year! I also hope that you are ready for some exciting training sessions which will be of high intensity because we have the BUCS Judo Competition coming up in February, followed by USIST competition (+social) later in the term.
For those that don't know, BUCS is the BIGGEST, most important and one of the most exciting competitions of the year.
It will be held on 21st and 22nd of February in Sheffield, so we are aiming to travel down there with a mini bus and stay at a hotel (hopefully Sport Imperial will pay for some of our fees).
The idea is to travel down to Sheffield on Friday around 1-2pm as Dan grades have to weigh in on Friday Evening, and we will arrive back in London Sunday evening.
If you would like to go by train, you can do so individually.
We are also aiming to enter teams for the team events held on Sunday; this is an individual and a teams competition.
If you are interested then please email back with your weight category and grade.
Sadly, there are limited entries per competition, so places in the BUCS team will be allocated based in commitment in the club trainings.
Competing at BUCS is honestly a privilege and shows your commitment to the club and the sport!
I hope we all train very hard over the next few weeks with a lot of motivation from this email, because BUCS is a really big competition and highly respect by the university.
Judo Love,
Suzie

Dear All,
RE: Joint Training with Bristol University Judo Club (A)
Further to the information below (13th November),
I have a list of the Bristol grades attending the session on the 10th,
so ideally we could try to match them for the visit.
To assist planning It would be useful if we can formulate a combined UL/IC list of reps attending the event
- corresponding to Bristol's group below.

RE: Visit to Bristol UJC
* Bristol UJC Dan grades - about 5 x 1st Dans on the mat who are fit and would be keen to have randori.
* We will get about the same number of 1st kyus.
* We have 2 green belts and 3 orange.
* The rest would be red belts of which we have many but would most likely get about 10.
