Hey all,
There is another competition taking place on Sunday 16th November, at the University of Sheffield. It is a competition for anyone with a kyu grade (so no black belts), and you will only be fighting opponents of similar level.
The cost of this competition is £15 and you must have a valid BJA licence.
If you are interested in attending then please let me know by Wednesday 29th October.
I would need your current weight, the weight category you would like to fight in, your licence number, and your current age.
Depending on the number of interested players, we will try to arrange travel together so we go down to Sheffield as a club.
Judo love,
Suzie

Dear all,
Hey guys, sorry about this late e mail, but the way in which the voucher scheme works for Judogis is that the BJA (British Judo Association) needs to make sure people who get the vouchers are actually going to be coming to judo regularly. Its a measure to make sure that the people who get the discount are going to take advantage of it. In this way, here are the instructions to get your BJA membership and Gis:
1. Log into Online Membership at: www.britishjudo.org.uk/join<http://www.britishjudo.org.uk/join>
2. Click “Apply Online”
3. Click “New Membership”
4. Complete all contact information
5. Select your Club from the “Club” drop-down box. Please make sure you choose an option that has ‘University’ in the name
6. Select “BUJA” from the ‘County/Group‘ drop-down box
7. Select ”1” from the ‘Number of Applicants’ drop-down box
8. Click “Continue”
9. Select “Student/Youth New 1 year“ from the ‘Membership Type’ drop- down box
10. Complete all personal details
11. Click “Continue”
12. Select any optional items that you would like to purchase
13. Enter your voucher code into the ‘Enter Code’ box
14. Click “Continue”
15. Select your judogi (suit) size and click 'Continue'
16. Check all details are correct
17. Tick boxes to consent to data protection and accept the declaration
18. Click “Continue”
19. Click “Finished”
You will notice that you need a voucher code for this, This you will request by ansering to this e mail, I will then sen you the code.
Sorry once more for not having done this before but its BJA policy.
Regards,
Guillermo

Hey Everyone!
I hope that those that have tried Judo, will want to continue to train and try to compete against other players from other universities. If so, here is the opportunity to fight and try out your skills:
This is a reminder that on Sunday 23rd of November, the London Open 2014 is happening and anyone is welcome to take part as you will only be fighting players of similar level/grade.
To enter, it will cost you only £16.
However, if you were under the age of 20 on the 1st of September 2014 then you can enter two groups and this will cost £26.
We always attempt to travel as a club and we all support one another during the competition, usually ending the day with a drink or two... or more (if you can handle it). The competition takes place in UEL, which is a tube journey away.
I can guarantee that you will enjoy the day and will continue to want to train and improve so you can compete more often in the future.
If you are interested, then please reply to this email asap as I have to send off the entries on the 1st of November.
Hope to hear from you.
Judo love,
Suzie xx

Hi All,
Welcome to everyone new to the club,
Just some practicalities for the beginning of term:
Training Sessions:
Starting TODAY:
Wednesday - 12:00 - 14:00
Thursday - 17:30 - 19:00 Beginner/Refresher session
Friday - 20:00 - 22:00
*All* sessions are in the Union Gym in level 3 Student Union (Beit Building).
Beginners may come to *any* session, but the Thursday session
will focus on teaching the basics and giving a gentle introduction to Judo.
IMPORTANT: This Friday the session is cancelled,
as the Union Gym is not available due to the Fresher's Ball.
Info for the first sessions:
Please bring comfortable sports clothing, that does
not restrict your range of movement.
If possible, wear something that doesn't rip,
or something you don't mind ripping.
Changing rooms are available.
We train barefoot, so no need for trainers.
Facebook Group:
We have a fairly active facebook group, where most
of the more spontaneous organisation happens, especially for socials:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/161492510549009/
All important information will also be sent over the mailing list.
Hope to see many of you at the taster sessions!
