approach any EXCO members to make payment and reserve your tickets! We know
we will see you there because its going to be a BLAST!

 6. Insurance
If you are looking for an insurance for your time overseas, AIG has a
partnership with Imperial Singapore Society. Insurance is important for you
when you travel to various countries, in case of flight delays, baggage
loss and other matters (since you are in Europe, you should definitely
consider traveling around too). It is important as well when you
participate in various activities that involve a certain amount of risk
(eg. Imperial Ski Trip). Moreover, the student assist plan is valid as long
as you are outside of Singapore, so it is extremely useful for insuring
your traveling plans too! In our partnership with AIG, we will be able to
get your student assist insurance plan at a 10% discount!

The Singsoc Farewell Party concluded on the 23rd of May. Almost 100 members

the freshers regarding life in Imperial College and London, do drop us an
email! We will definitely look into it and value-add the guide with your
inputs. We want to thank everyone who has contributed to us thus far, they
are wondrous suggestions indeed.
And for all with creative and imaginative minds out there, we want you to
write the script for our *Major Event 2015*! Do drop an email to our

 1. Dinner Delivery Service
Exams are round the corner (unfortunately)... Who has time to make dinner
when there is more studying to be done? Especially in the middle of the
week when it's the most intense!
As part of our welfare push, for the first time ever, we are having a *Dinner
Delivery Service* and we want to know what you think! This would be during
the period leading up to examinations in from the 2nd week of May to the
2nd week of June. We will be providing dinner delivery for members studying
in college (South Kensington campus) for 3 days each week, *Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday* in the abovementioned period.
Simply purchase from us the credits beforehand (*1 credit for a meal, £5
for each credit*) and we will deliver the food to you, right to the Central
Library Cafe! All you need is to take the steps down from the Library and
find a piping hot dinner waiting for you there!
Sign up at the link
here<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/4hdpz-1ez6m-gid41mr7a?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgoo.gl%…>and
we will subsequently send you the instructions!!
**If response is poor we might need to change the delivery service dates*
 Happy mugging!

 2. Sotong Guide 2014
The time has come again to write our favourite publication, the annual *Sotong

potential juniors in helping them prepare for life in London and Imperial.
We would like to extend to all of you the opportunity of contributing to
this exclusively-SingSoc publication! If you have any *tips, handy tricks
or useful information to offer to our juniors*, please do share them with
us by *dropping us a quick email*
here<admin@ic-singsoc.net?subject=I%20have%20something%20to%20share%20for%20Sotong%20Guide%202014%21>.
We will be checking this email regularly for any contributions you may
have! Do indicate if it’s for Book 1 or for Book 2!
Do keep a lookout on this space as well for teasers of Sotong Guide 2014 in
the near future.

 1. President's Address
Dearest Friends,
This is the 1st issue of Kaya and Toast, sent out by the newly minted 32nd
Executive Committee. Reading Kaya and Toast has been my pleasure every
single week. It is always filled with plans of exciting trips, musical
discounts and many job opportunities that university students, like me,
would love to see. But more than that, Kaya and Toast is one of the means
for us to be informed of the many interesting and exciting events that have
been planned out and to sign up for them! This weekly newsletter serves as
an avenue for us to not only be aware of what Imperial College Singapore
Society is up to, but also to keeps us up to date with the activities of
the SingSocs of other universities in the UK.
Imperial SingSoc is one of the largest and most active SingSocs around with
at least 3 events lined up for members every month. It gives my team and I
great honor to have your trust in running the Society. As the newly elected
Committee, we pledge our time and hearts to ensure that ICSS continues to
be the Home away from Home for all her members. It will be an exhilarating
journey and we invite you to join us in this wonderful adventure to create
an environment that reminds all of us that 'Hey! Home is not that far after
all!' A Home cannot be complete without the people in it. Without the
people, no extravagant events can seek to be one that is memorable.
My team and I are confident of bringing an exciting year ahead in
2014-2015, filled with fun, joy and laughter. I would like to sincerely
thank each and every one of you who have placed your trust in the 9 of us
to serve the Society in this capacity. Our efforts are limited if we work
alone. However, with a spirit of togetherness and unity, the 32nd Executive
Committee looks forward to bring all of us aboard on this ICSS odyssey. We
keep the vision of an inclusive society in mind and will continue to
present a SingSoc that is always there for her members.
Additionally, I represent everyone in saying a big THANK YOU to the 31st
Executive Committee for what they have done, without which, I would most
definitely not be here typing this.
Have a very merry Easter holidays!
In your service always,
Aw Jiong Le, Clive
President
32nd Executive Committee
ICSS
 ------------------------------
 2. Introducing the 32nd Exco!
      *President - Clive Aw*
Clive is an extremely happy-go-lucky person. Nothing seems to be able
to bring him down. If he is ever sad, a lame joke about anything under the
Sun is able put a smile back on his face. As a Physics undergraduate, Clive
always steer any conversation towards Quantum Mechanics and the likes.
However, do not mistake that for his capabilities in that subject. But he
does have an interest in reading books related to Physics in general.
Talking about books, Clive is an avid book collecter. He fancies going on
online websites and buying books as well as going to the Central Library to
borrow books. Sadly, reading makes him tired and sleep is usually
(ALWAYS!!) the easier option.
In his free time, Clive loves going to the big outdoors with his DSLR,
snapping photos of nature and his friends. That being said, he loves
travelling as well. Spending time in the meadows with the cows and deers
grazing is his escape from the busy streets of London. Weekend brunches are
always the motivation for Clive to get up on Saturday mornings at 9am. A
good English breakfast and a pot of Earl Grey is an excellent start to even
more sleep. Coming to London is one of Clive's biggest dream because of his
passion for theatrical performances. Being surrounded with so award winning
musicals and plays, he is extremely happy that SingSoc organises so many of
these trips to catch these awesome plays at really affordable prices!!
Clive is a very simple person, not someone who has a lot of quotable
quotes nor does he think that he is a great leader like Obama. He believes
strongly in sincerity and being genuine. Smile at anyone and believe that
it brightens their day. That is Clive's daily aim: To put a smile on the
faces of people that he meets. As the President of Singsoc, Clive envisions
the Society to be a place that provides a homely and inclusive environment
to everyone that is willing to come. He sincerely hopes to create a good
and strong community for the members and that these friendships that are
forged will last beyond the course of study here in London.
             *Vice-President - Leon Ooi*
In his free time, Leon can be found playing the guitar.
Inspired by players like Andy Mckee and Sungha Jung. He often experiments
with the fingerstyle method of playing the guitar, hoping that he will be
able to play as well as them one day.
Besides making music, Leon enjoys physical activities such as squash and
snowboarding. He enjoys the feeling of freedom when rushing down the slopes
and continously strives to improve himself over each opportunity to
snowboard.
Warm and friendly, feel free to approach Leon whenever you need a listening
ear and he would be happy to help you in any way he can. He hopes to serve
the society with to the best of his abilty and create a great year ahead!
                *Secretary - Lim Wei Hao*
Wei Hao is a nature-loving, environmentally conscious, friendly Geography
enthusiast who is fascinated by sometimes peculiar objects such as globes,
maps, National Geographic magazines and pretty much everything related to
Mother Nature and Earth. As much as a tree hugger he can be, nothing can
beat his thirst for knowledge and extreme curiosity in the complex world of
Physics. At times, concepts in Quantum Physics are so deep and
counter-intuitive, he wonders if it is really Science and facts, or just
one whole cock and bull story.
When there's nothing much to do, he likes to keep himself happy and spends
his free time watching movies and TV series (Big Bang Theory, Modern
Family, The Walking Dead, just to name a few), reading, playing squash,
swimming and cycling, which he absolutely loves and would love to go on
cycling trips with anyone! He particularly enjoys outdoor trips and
exploring new and interesting places, so ask him along! *hints hints*
*Treasurer - Maung Thet*
Maung Thet can be a hard nut to crack - initially serious and
seemingly anti-social, he can evolve into a funny and loyal friend once you
get to know him.
In his free time, you may find him wandering around and taking selfies at
famous landmarks or wandering around on the Internet to look for novel
interesting gadgets to make his life easier. In his life, Maung Thet always
welcomes a good challenge, be it academically, taking up responsibilities
or pursuing his interests in running and photography.
Sometimes he has trouble trying to express himself and this is probably the
reason why he loves photography so much, and his drive to constantly
improve his photography skills to a higher level. So he feels happy when he
manages to capture moments in the best way he knows.
Lastly, Maung Thet cares greatly about the people around him, and so look
out for and support the new initiatives coming your way from the 32nd!
* Events Officer (Major Event) - Choo Jia Hui*
Beware if you are holding a camera, because Jia Hui will definitely find
her way to photo-bomb your photo! With a bubbly character, it is almost
impossible to spot Jia Hui without a smile. She loves preparing surprises
and handmade gifts for her family and friends as she truly believes in
spreading the fun and happiness. Despite having said that, she is also
brave to speak her mind. But don't be offended by her because she doesn't
mean any harm!
Jia Hui enjoys singing in the shower, running, and shopping for clothes.
Yet what she truly enjoys most, is talking to people. Given her chatty
personality, you can hardly find a quiet moment in her life. You can often
find her having heart-to-heart conversations with anyone she knows, and of
course herself sharing all her secrets (makes one wonders if they're still
secrets). So do look for your friendly major event officer if you need
someone to talk to, she's most suited for this, really (and that's also why
she's called Mama Choo).
*Events Officer 1 - Lincoln Ang*
Lincoln is neither a diehard fan of Linkin Park nor an
item to be bought in a computer game. A mild mannered individual driven
primarily by passion and a (he hopes) strong sense of right and wrong, he
is intensely proud of his ability to get high on life. However, don't count
on him to make funny jokes - he still hasn't gotten better at them!
Travelling is a bittersweet thing for Lincoln. While he would like nothing
better than to explore the wonders of the world, lab reports and tutorials
often confine him within the walls of his room during the weekends. Music
is Lincoln's one great love and in his opinion the solution to all
problems. Don't be surprised when you hear him burst into song - this
happens when a song wraps itself around his head, sometimes for days at a
time.
During rare moments of freedom, Lincoln can be found with his friends,
playing badminton, singing, jamming or just plain chilling. He derives the
greatest pleasure in organizing events and seeing his friends enjoy
themselves. Lincoln is eager to hear you out and is definitely open to all
manner of suggestions and ideas you have - give it a go!
*Events Officer 2 - Kanneganti Sameer*
Kanneganti 'Sam' Sameer is one part of your friendly event
officer duo. Akin to Batman, He pledges to do his part in defeating the
forces of the evil Red Tape and providing exciting adventures to the people
of ICSS. Jokes aside, Sam is actually a (relatively) serious person when it
comes to work. He emphasises on efficiency and process streamlining and
tries his best to think of novel solutions to organisational issues.
In his free time, he loves to just... hangout with friends and take a chill
pill. While his hunger for adventure has definitely taken a bump for the
time being, he hopes to be back out there, climbing peaks and finding
himself in due time. If you love trance, house or folk music, send him a
message and you can introduce him to your favourite DJ or artiste. If ever
in doubt or with a suggestion or two, feel free to ask Sam out for a cuppa
or drop by his pad (He loves company!). If there is one thing he's learnt,
it's to always keep an open mind.
*Sports Officer - Poh Yu Quan*
With chalk in his hands and his climbing shoes on, Yu Quan is always
ready for some action. This avid rock climber loves exploring the outdoors
and scaling new heights. He loves embracing new experiences and is always
ready to try his hands at something fresh. He believes the world is a
enormous playground and it is free to those who wish to pursue it.
When he isn't monkeying around, he can be seen dwelling in the disciplined
art of taekwondo (technically it is a sport not a martial art). Some wonder
why he loves getting kicked all the time, but he thinks it's real good fun.
Yu Quan is an active and determined individual and he will definitely make
sure you're always keeping fit and active through the various sporting
groups. Its a guarantee that this sports fanatic will keep you busy and in
shape for your time here at Imperial.
*Liaisons Officer - Chan Jing Yi*
Jing Yi is increasingly known as "Carol", although she still forgets to
respond to that name sometimes. Don't be fooled by her apparently 'serious'
face because she is an absolutely crazy girl inside! She loves to sing,
especially on empty streets while walking back to hall from school at
night, because she gets to imagine herself as a skilled a cappella singer.
(Her real singing skills are a far cry from that though.)
Jing Yi is a Biomedical Engineer-to-be and absolutely proud of it. In
addition, she strongly believes biomedical engineers are full-fledged
engineers who lead rigorous engineer lives as well. When given the luxury
of free time, she likes to make single-serving desserts in her coveted
Sainsbury's 2-pound ramekins. (Coffee cake-in-a-cup with a dash of
cinnamon, anyone?)
For some unknown reason, Jing Yi is always the last person to hear the
latest gossip. This year, however, she is going to change that for her role
of Liaison Officer to get hold of the best lobang in town! Feel free to let
her know of any suggestions, comments and feedback you may have about
anything related to Singsoc, and she'll do her best to make your wishes
come true.

The UCLU Garage Theatre Workshop is UCL Union's own intimate 70-seater
studio performance space. The Theatre is a short 5 minute walk from Euston
Station and the entrance is located near the back of UCL Wates House next
to Campbell House (West).
 ABOUT FEAR OF WRITING
A playwright struggles with writer's block, a director and producer bemoan
their failure to get a government licence to stage their play, a mother
writes to her daughter overseas and everyday Singaporeans are featured in a
series of seemingly innocent interviews. Tethering between the natural and
the surreal, supposedly disparate elements are woven together in this
dizzying, self-referential work as the line between art, performance and
reality begin to blur dramatically as the play reaches its chilling
conclusion.

 2. Final Words from our President, Hong Rui
At the AGM 2 weeks ago, as I watched the
video<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/4cz0a-1ez6m-pc2t6vi8?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.you…>
being
screened and recollected memories of the entire journey that we, the 31st
Exco, have been through, I remember being overwhelmed with joy, nostalgia
and more importantly, an immense sense of gratitude. It has been an
extremely fulfilling year and our Exco has come a long way, but this
success could not have been achieved without an extraordinary mix of people
supporting us all this while. And now, I would like to express my sincere
and heartfelt gratitude to all of you.
*To the entire team ICSS*, each and every single one of the 57 OGLs, 13
Acad Reps, 11 Sports Reps, and everyone who has helped us in our events in
one way or another, thank you for all your efforts. ICSS is a society
centered around people, and we needed the support of you guys to help us
see our plans through for everything we do, from PDT to Sojourn to sports
and beyond. Thank you all for making everything possible, for making a
difference in the lives of others, and for making this home of ours a
reality.
*To our 6 amazing OGHs*, Akash, Shixuan, Zichao, Qamarul, Bertrand and
Chang Hong. Can you imagine how Sojourn would be without you guys around?
The 6 of you were the ones who made the camp so vibrant, so crazy, and so
much fun. Thank you for your excellent work in heading the OGs and hyping
up everyone. Thank you for coming up with brilliant impromptu performances
when we needed to stall a bit more time (*Swipee no swiping!*). And thank
you for supporting us this entire time, not just for Sojourn, but for this
whole journey. We couldn't have found a better team, and we really couldn't
have asked for more.
*To my hallmates, housemates and coursemates,* Gerlynn, Zhonghong ,
Paulene, Kancong, Shixuan, and my fellow awesome Mech Engineers, thank you
for being the unsung heroes supporting me and the Exco throughout this
journey. Thank you for that warm meal awaiting us when we are back home
late from meetings, thank you for those times you collected lecture notes
and helped us with our work, and most of all, thank you for your
understanding and taking on the bulk of the work/cooking in order to cover
our absence. You guys make the impossible manageable, and the tough
bearable, and without your support, we would not have been able to devote
our efforts to serve this society to the best of our abilities.
*To all our seniors, especially the 29th and 30th Excos*, thank you for
your guidance and invaluable words of advice, for your assurance that we
are doing well, and thank you for all the work that you have done to make
ICSS the amazing community that it was. To Joshua and Ashley, thanks for
being my mentors and always being a call away. We will definitely miss
having all of you around when you graduate, for ICSS would not be the same
without you.
Finally, *to my comrades in the 31st Exco*. I have so much to thank you all
for that I could fill up this KnT by myself. Of course Siming doesn't
approve, so I will mention you all in a separate Facebook note instead. But
I must say that I am really blessed to have worked in such an exceptional
team, where we don't see each other as just fellow Exco members, but close
friends whom we've gone through thick and thin with. Thank you for all the
late night drinking/HTHT sessions, for all the failed birthday surprises
that we've staged, and for our random whatsapp chats plagued with Yiliang's
emoticons and pictures. I am really privileged to have served by the side
of each and every one of you, and thank you, for an incredible 12 months
that I will never forget.
*To all members of ICSS,* as an Exco alone, our efforts are limited, but
together as one family, our possibilities become endless. I look forward to
what the 32nd Exco brings to us, and once again, I thank you for choosing
us, for believing in us and for supporting us throughout this odyssey.
It has been an honour serving you.
Yours truly,
Chew Hong Rui
President (Ret.)

 3. Final Words from our Vice-President, Gabriel
As the members of the 32nd exco are slowly being elected in one by one, the
nostalgia of my own election comes to mind. Even though I was not expecting
to be in the exco, it has been a great experience and one that I would
treasure. Thank you, you who has that bit of concern for society to take
time off your busy schedule to read this.
Thank you for your support; in participating in the events we conducted,
for being the reason why we have them in the first place. Thank you for the
notes you have copied during lectures, so that we may copy those we have
missed. Thank you for the help with lab reports or projects, so that we may
spend that bit more time in planning something for everyone.
Thank you for the meals you have cooked that kept us going, the trash you
have taken out. Thank you for the attention from afar, the moment of
silence to say out piece. No matter how slim was our interaction, that bit
made me push on. Thank you for all the encouragements and feedback, be it
positive or negative.
It has been said that being in an exco position is a heavy responsibility,
but it is those who support the exco that has to bear the weight. To
society, thank you for carrying us through. For us to include, involve and
inspire future generations.
To the 32nd exco, treasure each moment you have, and enjoy the journey
ahead. But do not lose sight of the reason why you decided to take up this
responsibility. Remember those around you and the society you serve. All
the best!
Yours gratefully,
Gabriel Wee.

 4. Final Words from our Secretary, Siming
If you're even reading this... *thank you* because that shows that you're
vaguely interested in what I have to say! :D
Thanks to *everyone in ICSS *for all your help, for reading my
not-very-interesting Kaya and Toasts, for your fervent support in all our
events. We wouldn't have done it without you!
To *my coursemates and seniors:* Thanks so much for the help in everything,
entertaining me in lectures, helping me with labs, lab reports, vivas etc..
To *my housemates* (Elvin, I hope you're reading this, and make the Mihas
read too!): I love you all so much! :D Thanks for always cooking and
leaving food for me, for enduring the noise I make when I come home so late
at nights, for putting up with me when I'm tired and angsty, and for all
the support and love that you always shower me with! <3
To *my dancers*: You guys touched me so much with your dedication and
commitment. I wasn't sure of this role at the start because I felt that I
wasn't good enough, but the support and love you all have showed made me
feel very proud of belonging to this team and leading this team. It really
was the best experience that I could have ever asked for, and I hope all of
you had an enjoyable experience as well (:
To *the 31st*: Thank you I love all of you!!!
To *Wei Hao and the 32nd*: Jiayou all the best and don't ever hesitate to
ask us for anything! :D
 And for the last time...
Your faithful secretary,
Siming

 5. Final Words from our Treasurer, Wei Jie
Dear friends,
The past year has certainly been very memorable for me. I would like to
thank the following people for their help:
To the senior exco, for their continued support throughout the entire year;
in particular, Zhen Yi and Joel, for their guidance in the areas of finance
and beyond.
To the Sojourn Amazing Race team - Brian, Hsuan Te, Sean, Yi Heng, Yihan -
really appreciate the dedication you guys have put in and spending long
hours to plan to make the amazing race a success.
To everyone from Minions - Chang Hong, Everett, Jia Guang, Kan Cong, Marc,
Paulene, Timothy, Yihan, Yvette, and all freshers - thank you for being
really enthusiastic and making Sojourn an extremely enjoyable weekend, and
for being a fun group of people to go out with since Sojourn.
To the acting team - Clive, Everett, Jacqueline, Jaren, Jerome, Jia Guang,
Jia Hui, Kah Ming, Sameer, Sze Wei, Thomas, Ting Wei and Wei Hao - a big
thank you for making all our late night rehearsals extremely fun, lively
and memorable.
To the front-of-house team - Aaron, Chang Hong, Kan Cong, Li Bing, Zi Jie,
Zi Xiang - and Akash who stepped in to help on the day itself, thank you
for helping out at such short notice, from scanning tickets to looking
after the ticket counter and distributing the programme booklets and flyers
at the door.
To the publicity team, in particular to Zi Jie and Maung Thet for taking
the time to provide countless inputs for the programme booklet and other
publicity materials, Benjamin and Qiao Yan for painstakingly making so many
revisions for all the publicity materials. To Thomas, for the creatively
written paragraphs found throughout the programme booklet, for making the
temporary tattoos a success, and much more.
To my housemates - Chang Hong, Gordon, Jen Yi, Jia Guang and Li Bing -
thanks for everything that I could have asked for, from cooking meals to
accommodate our schedules during the busiest times, to providing a
listening ear and giving opinions and advice.
To my skating mates - Audrey, Darren, Eric, Jia Ying, Kan Cong, Ping Lin,
Sarah, Skyler and Travis (sorry if I missed anyone out!) - it has been
really great to get to skate with all of you. This has been a great respite
and source of relaxation, away from all the seemingly interminable work.
To Hong Rui, Gabriel, Siming, Chuan Khim, Yu Zheng, Yi Sheng, Jen Yi,
Yiliang, I'm really appreciative of being able to work with each of you,
and of course the many outings that we had throughout the year.
To Maung Thet, I would like to wish you a successful and fruitful term.
While the journey ahead may look difficult or even uncertain, I am
confident that you will be able to gain an excellent experience. And I'll
always be there to help whenever you need it, so let me know if you need
anything.
To the 32nd exco, all the best in the year ahead!

 6. Final Words from our Major Event Officer, Chuan Khim
I remember vividly elections 1 year ago, where myself and the other 8
members of the 31st ICSS ExCo were elected - the photo-taking session after
elections ended, the ensuing handover session between my predecessors and
myself, and the walk home that night, knowing that I was now part of the
ICSS ExCo - a group of 9 whom put ourselves forward to serve the Society
and our people.
In this past year, the 31st ICSS ExCo has strived to continue the wonderful
legacy left to us; to continue to strengthen, build and expand our home
here in London - far away from the comforts of Singapore. Through hours and
hours of meetings and preparation, policies were crafted, initiatives were
launched, and events were organised, all with the same common aim - to
serve our members, and to fortify this Society we call home.
This has been done together with the support of our batchmates and our
seniors - the people who have always supported the ExCo. From SFP to CNY
Dinner, from Sojourn to UKBound, from Hyde Park Picnic to E-gaming
Competition, your continued support of the 9 of us, be it as friends, as
housemates, as coursemates, or as members of the society, was the driving
force for the Society as well as the ExCo. Thank you for all that you have
done for the Society and for us, and for being who you are. My sincerest
gratitude goes out to all of you, and know that for all your support, I am
eternally grateful.
And of course, all was not possible with the enthusiasm and participation
from our newest family members - the year 1s, and masters/exchange students
as well. Thank you for your continued support that you have shown the 31st
ICSS ExCo, be it in sports, or in events, or in our outings. I hope that
you have enjoyed our events as much as we have enjoyed organising them.
Which brings me to Major Event. The journey to ME 2014 started way back, 51
weeks ago, and it has been an amazing journey. To all participants of ME
2014, thank you so much, for everything. From Front-of-House to the
Dancers, from the Makeup Team to the Musicians, from the Publicity Team to
the Director and the Acting Team Mentors, from the Cast & Crew, to my
predecessors and seniors - your enthusiasm, energy, hard work, and quality
have made this journey especially enjoyable and fulfilling, and I am very
proud to have all of you alongside me throughout this journey. The results
of a production, as ME 2014 was, is always only about 30% on the show, and
30% on the process. The remaining 40% goes to what comes after the show -
the friendships forged and bonds formed, the times shared, the sense of
identity as a group and as a team. Enjoy the fruits of your hard work, for
it is no more than what you deserve.
Lastly, there is one last special group to thank. Thank you, my fellow 31st
ExCo members. This is a journey that we have walked together; a journey
that has brought us closer together; a journey that I will never forget.
The times we had, experiences we share, and friendships forged through this
journey of ups and downs, will stay with me for a long time to come. I am
proud to have served alongside you; to be part of the ICSS ExCo together
with all of you. Proud, to have spent this life-changing experience
together with all of you. Thank you, for everything.
The year of serving as the ICSS ExCo has come to a close, and the baton has
been passed on to the next batch of people who have put themselves forth,
like all other ExCos have, to serve the Society and its members. To the
32nd ExCo - foray on bravely and with confidence, for with your passion to
serve and learn, nothing can hinder you. If you ever need us, myself, and
the 31st, (and 30th and 29th and 28th), will always be there for you.
Signing off for the last time,
Yours Always,
Chuan Khim
Your Ex-Major Event Officer.

 7. Final Words from our Events Officer, Yu Zheng
Hi everyone! It has been a great year serving you all. It's really magical
seeing how everyone, from strangers, have now become great friends. And I
guess that's something amazing that events can do to create these bonds. It
has been an eventful year for me. I had my ups and downs throughout this
past year. But seeing the results of this past year, I would say that this
journey has been really fulfilling for me. Hope you guys had enjoyed the
events as much as I had enjoyed organizing them for y'all:)!
Best regards,
Liam

Imperial College Singapore Society

 8. Final Words from our Events Officer, Yi Sheng
Term's over? Wow, much fast. A brief shout out to the people along the way.
To *the M'am*: Thanks for not objecting too much when I plunged into this.
Your company and support is all I could ever need in my life.
To *the 30th and 29th*: All this started off with your accumulative efforts
and guidance. Thanks for helping to shape Singsoc into what we know and
love.
*Those who convinced me to run in the first place*: particularly Everett,
Chee Yang and Zi Xiang: Gamxia, its been an awesome experience.
To *the family at 126 Cromwell*: On hindsight I really shouldn't have
chosen Wednesdayfor my cooking day. Sorry! I will make up for my backlog,
promise! =D
To *the musicians*: you guys are awesome. Thanks for sticking with us
through all the (literally) breathtaking moments, long waits and people
telling us to keep quiet when we are jamming. Jia Le has got plans aplenty,
so see you all soon! (Speaking of long waits, I have got stuff for you
guys, when we meet =D)
To *the 31st:* Aw damn this is the really hard part. I don't think KnT
could ever fit all the ups and downs from this journey so far. Every
instance of covering each other's backs, society above self, going the
extra mile that no one else would. I'm honoured to be part of this, and
more so that I have friends like you. Can't say I miss you guys though;
we're not done with hanging out as this group of 9 yet!
For* the 32nd:* it's exciting times ahoy! Call us up anytime for help, and
in the case of this old guy keep bugging me if I forget ^^
And that's a wrap.
Yubyub,
Yi Sheng

 9. Final Words from our Sports Officer, Jen Yi
Hello everybody,
One year ago, I would never, ever have imagined that I would be in a
position to write this note of thanks, but here I am and here it is:
To the *sports reps* (in no order of importance, Klaxton, Yen Chen, Joelle,
Si Jia, Bertrand, Zhi Jie, Travis, Ken and Sean): Thank you for all the
effort you've put into organizing sessions for everyone. Thanks for
co-ordinating for WSG and Notts Games, and also for your continual support
during these games despite your busy schedules. I cannot claim any credit
whatsoever for the fact that people continue to enjoy sports organized by
the ICSS; that credit belongs wholly to you.
To the *Set Design Team* of ME 2014: Let me just say once again that your
contribution to the production was invaluable. Without you, the production
could not have happened. Go set design!
To my housemates *Jia Guang, Chang Hong, Li Bing, Wei Jie and Gordon*:
Thanks for helping out with all our events, both in the preparation and on
the day itself although you didn't have to. Thanks especially for your
words of advice and offers to cook when WJ and I were busy. Much
appreciated!
To the *Cromwell House*: Thanks for being so encouraging and for
introducing me to DOTA. My addiction to it is on you.
To my *Foosball Exco members* (although I doubt any of them will read
this): Thanks for supporting me and tanking the work in the course of this
year, for being very understanding when I prioritise ICSS over Foosball
(sorry!). You guys are the best!
To *everyone else* who has supported me on this journey: Thank you for your
support and encouragement. It has been vital to me throughout this whole
year.
To the *31st Exco*: It has been a wonderful year working with you guys! You
have been nothing but supportive throughout this entire year, especially
when I found myself seriously out of my depth. The journey has been long
and arduous, but I can honestly say I regret nothing.
To *Yu Quan*: You alone decide how you want your journey to pan out. All
the best!
 ------------------------------
 10. Final Words from our Liaisons Officer, Yiliang
It's been a brilliant year in term. Joining the 31st Executive Committee
was probably one of the highlights of my academic year, the great amount of
exposure and self-development that I had from being in office fuelled me
into being a better and more mature individual. In retrospect, amidst all
the exposure that I had, I realise that there are a few groups of
individuals that I would like to express my gratitude for as they made this
arduous journey more comfortable and pleasant.
Firstly, my *course mates*(: I would like to express my utmost appreciation
to Jiayun, Chern Hwee, Stella, Jen Wei, Choon Huat and Shi Xuan for being
the best course mates one could ask for. It's always a blessing having a
tightly knitted group of friends whom we can just talk and have a good
laugh. More than that, thanks for helping us take our notes when we miss
lectures and telling us the important points to take note of in projects
and lectures that we have.
My* Chorale team*(: All of you contributed significantly into making my
Major Event experience an enjoyable and pleasant one. It's been an
unforgettable experience for me and for all of you I hope. For my chorale
members, thanks for being so accommodating and accepting to whatever we ask
of you. For my vocal coaches, thanks for the devotion and commitment to
Chorale despite your hectic schedules, it's been tough on both of you and I
sincerely appreciate that.
My *fellow committee members* (: It's been a blast and a long journey for
the 9 of us. I am really glad that all of us pulled through it and did a
really decent job through our term. The long nights in summer and the even
longer nights leading up to Major Event was definitely worth it.
Hopefully, the friendships that we fostered will last and as Gabriel
mentioned, "talking and reminiscing our experiences through coffee in the
future".
At this juncture, I have *a quote for everyone* (oops, not again). This is
something I found particularly true through the course of my term.
*"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of
others." *
* Mahatma Gandhi
<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/4cz0a-1ez6m-pc2t6vi8?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.good…>
*
To the *incoming Liaison officer *and *32nd Executive Committee*, I pray
that all of you will have the same fulfilling journey that I had, deriving
satisfaction from service and in the midst of it all, learn so much more
about yourself. Work hard and enjoy this one year that you have. It will be
the time of your lives.
