1. Major Event 2009
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Preparations for Major Event 2009 are underway! This year we are
going to be staging a musical/play revolving around the central
theme of promoting Singapore culture and displaying various
facets of Singapore.
The Major Event Brainstorming Session was held today with great
success, and the nine ideas listed below are among the most
prominent. Straight from the fresher’s themselves!
1. Getai
2. True Singapore Ghost Stories
3. Army Stories
4. School life
5. Singaporean Laws
6. Singlish
7. Singaporean behavior in the UK
8. Uniquely Singaporean Events
9. Singaporean Culture Festivals
**What Now??**
Now that we have these nine ideas to start out with, we are
calling everyone throughout the whole society to join hands and
get the ball rolling. It’s time to get the show on the road!
Do you have any ZANY ideas?
What YOU need to do is to pick three categories and create a
short synopsis together with a short scene (if possible) to
illustrate the feel of your envisioned play/musical. Be it a few
lines or a page, what we want are ideas which can only come from
YOU!
We understand that the ideas above are very much in their infant
stages. Do note that these are just guidelines and YOU are
definitely free to throw in any other ideas that you have! Or mix
them up! Have Ghost stories in the army or romance in JC! The sky
is the limit!
Please submit all synopsizes and short scenes by next Wednesday
– 12th November to our dear secretary, Miss Sophia Huang at
sophiahuimei(a)hotmail.com
Remember this is YOUR event. Get involved and make it COUNT!
With YOUR help, these performances will be unique and
captivating bringing out the best talents among us!! More
importantly, after MAJOR EVENT 2009, you will definitely cherish
the all the hard work and bonds forged during the rehearsals and
preparations!
We look forward to hearing from you! It’s time for us to come
together and achieve as one.
Yours truly,
The 26th Executive Committee
