                        Updates
Hi everyone,
Happy belated Valentine's Day! Hope you are all having a good Chinese New
Year as well, abundant in blessings and rich in friendships. You can check
out some photos from the CNY Reunion Dinner below.
Please note that AGM now starts at 12:30pm and the venue has been

item into the agenda; all you have to do is email Ashley! Also, just to
clarify the nomination criteria below, the online nominator must still be
physically present at the general elections. If you are interested in the
workings of the society and believe in what the society stands for, please
seriously consider running for a position and do not hesistate to step up
to the job!
Not forgetting our collaborative event with ICUMS, we have many updates
with regards to "Who Boleh". Complete prize listings for each activity are
out below! In addition, please take note of the activity-specific time and
venue updates, some technical updates for e-sports, and that poker cards
should not be brought for the non-competitive games. All participants
should have received/will receive an email containing more information. If
you have not received it, or do not receive it by today, please contact
Ting Wei.
Finally, please note that the SIA recruitment deadline is today, 15th
February!
Your faithful secretary,
Gabriel

responsibility within the society for the next year-long term.
All members are strongly encouraged to go through the agenda. If there are
any suggestions for additional points or any matter you wish to discuss at
the meeting, please bring it up to Ashley, our President, for including it
in the agenda. The meeting details are as follows:
*Date: 27th February (Wednesday)*

Rough Programme: Registration and lunch will commence at 12:30pm, followed
by the presentation and elections. Dinner will be at 6:30pm, and elections
will continue until all positions are filled.*
Note that *only ICSS members can attend* this meeting, and that *lunch and

up this form<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/2xdec-1ez6m-1bmcg8sa8t?u=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.…>
.
*Nominations and submission of manifestos are now open*! For those
considering running for a position, or want to nominate a friend you think
is suitable, please read the following carefully:
*Candidacy Eligibility Criteria*
To run for office, you must be a full member of the ICSS. Other than that,
there is no restriction on year of study, except that you must not be
graduating or leaving Imperial at the end of the academic year, as you
should complete a year-long term.
*Nomination Criteria *
Once again, only full members can nominate people to run for office.
Moreover, *self-nominations are not allowed*. Plus, if you are running for
a position, you cannot nominate someone for that same position. Finally,
note that the *nominator must be present at the elections*, and *each
nomination needs to be seconded* at the election itself by at least 2 full
members *who are similarly not running for that same position*.
Now that all the restrictions are clearly stated above, how does one go
about running for the Exco or nominating someone?
*To Nominate Someone*
Simply send an email to agm2013(a)ic-singsoc.net with the following details:
   1. Your membership number (i.e. membership no. of nominator)
   2. Your name
   3. Your contact no.
   4. Your email address
   5. Name of nominee
   6. Contact no. of nominee
   7. Email address of nominee
   8. Position that you wish the nominee to run for
Once the nomination has been received by us, we will contact the nominee to
get his/her agreement, before *publishing the names of both the nominator
and the nominee* onto our website. Note that there *can be nominations at
the elections* itself, similarly requiring at least 2 seconders.
*To Run for Office*
Firstly, if you wish to find out more about the various Exco positions, you
may email any of the current Exco for more information:
President: Ashley Ng – president(a)ic-singsoc.et
Vice-president: Bennett Tan – vicepresident(a)ic-singsoc.net
Secretary: Gabriel Quek – secretary(a)ic-singsoc.net
Treasurer: Ng Zhen Yi – treasurer(a)ic-singsoc.net
Major Event Officer: Phua Hsuan Te – majorevent(a)ic-singsoc.net
Events Officer 1: Lee Ting Wei – eventsofficer1(a)ic-singsoc.net
Events Officer 2: Tan Qian Wen – eventsofficer2(a)ic-singsoc.net
Sports Officer: Teo Kai Qin – sportsofficer(a)ic-singsoc.net
Liaisons Officer: Loy Xing Kai – liaisonsofficer(a)ic-singsoc.net
Alternatively, you can refer to our
constitution<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/2xdec-1ez6m-1bmcg8sa8t?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.u…>
.
Secondly, it is highly recommended that all candidates who wish to run for
office *submit a manifesto* that we will publish on our website within
48hrs of us acknowledging receipt. This is so that members can find out
more about what you candidates are like and what you stand for. Manifestos
should be submitted to agm2013(a)ic-singsoc.net *by 24th Feb 2359 hrs*. This
will allow us enough time to have them printed for those at the AGM. The
manifestos must contain the following:
   1. Your name
   2. The position you are running for
   3. Your picture
There will be no restrictions on page length. As a guide, your manifesto is
a personal statement that explains why you are will be suitable for the
position. However, *submission of a manifesto does not guarantee a
nomination*, and a nomination will still be required as explained above.
More information to come! Good luck to all interested candidates and see
you all at AGM!
Regards,
The 30th Exco

 3. Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner
A big thank you to all those who came down to participate in our
traditional Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner! It's really quite something to
have such a large group of noisy Singaporeans crowd into a Chinatown street
like that. We hope you have all enjoyed yourselves, with a good meal and
the karaoke set, in the company of friends.
Below are some pictures of the event! More can be found on
Facebook<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/2xdec-1ez6m-1bmcg8sa8t?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fa…>

We begin by *enthusiastically* greeting a senior!
On the left, we have our traditional *lo hei*, a toast to abundance and
prosperity! And on the right, another toast, this time to success!

And... congratulations to our lucky draw prize winners!

 4. Spring Musical
We hope you all enjoyed watching the Phantom of the Opera. We certainly
did! The elaborate set, seamless melding of the music and movement,
surprising trapdoors and other thingamajigs.
As we conclude our series of musical outings, we would like to thank you
all for your continued and overwhelming support in our new musical outing
initiatives!

 5. Major Event 2013: Homecoming
It feels like yesterday that we were all on stage, standing before a full
house, accepting the tumultuous applause of the audience. Major Event 2013
may be over, the euphoria may die down, and we may fall back into our old
routines. But it is the memories and friendships made that will linger on
in our hearts. Each moment is precious, and unfortunately not every single
one can be fully captured. For those who wish to reminiscence and store
this experience in a less temporal way, most, if not all, of the event day
pictures are now available on
Facebook<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/2xdec-1ez6m-1bmcg8sa8t?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fa…>.
As you look through them, think about all the experiences we have all
shared together in the making of this wonderful performance, at a place
where our dreams take flight.

                        Updates
Hi everyone,
Major Event was indeed a night to remember. To those who came down, a big
thank you for your supoprt of the ICSS and I hope you enjoyed the show! To
fellow cast and crew of Major Event, great job everyone! I believe our
Major Event Officer has some words for all of you below.
Now that we are all hopefully more well rested and well on our way to
catching up with work (lol, who am I kidding), let us not forget that
Chinese New Year is this weekend! As such, we have our annual Chinese New
Year dinner tomorrow! The trailers are up on our ICSS webpage with more to
come! Note that the dinner will be held on the upper floor and we will have
ushers to guide you. More importantly, I'm proud to announce that we will
be providing free yusheng for every table! Also, there will be a table
lucky draw held promptly at 7pm with the prize being an extra 100% portion
of yusheng! Only tables with complete attendance at 7pm are eligible for
this draw, so please get all your lateness-prone friends there on time by
hook or by crook!
As the dust settles post-Major Event, many of us may ask "what now?". Well,
if you think that what the ICSS does is worth your time and effort
preserving, improving and developing, perhaps you may want to consider
running for the positions of Exco at our upcoming AGM, during which
elections will be held. This is a meeting which I encourage ALL MEMBERS to
attend as this really determines the well-being of our society for at least
the next year of term. Even if you are not running for office, I believe
everyone has a stake in the society and this is the opportunity to exercise
your right to influence the running of the society. Nominations and
manifesto submissions are open! Please refer to the full AGM post below for
the various rules and guidelines.
There have also been updates for "Who Boleh", especially for the gamers,
who have to now choose between DOTA and L4D2! We now have an event page,
the activities have been confirmed and so has the tournament style for
Captain's Ball. Note that the signup deadline has been extended to *12th
February (Tuesday)*.
Spring Trip sign ups are now closed, and we require those who have been
recently given a slot to make payment by *9th February (Saturday) 12 noon*.
Now on to some updates from other societies and our sponsors:
As part of the Distinguished Business Leaders Series organised by OSU,
there will be a talk on the 1st of March, with a good free dinner provided
for all participants!
Check out the King's College Musical, Imperial's I-Night, and Mahjong
Club's Mahjong competition in the posts below!
Finally, we have 3 updates in the careers section, with the addition of the
Project Firefly Essay competition as well as BP and ExxonMobil summer
internship applications.
Your faithful secretary,
Gabriel

 2. Major Event 2013 - Homecoming
Dearest Cast and Crew of Major Event 2013,
We did it. These 3 words essentially encapsulate the very essence of the
emotions that I felt on the 2nd of February, 2013. As I sat down in my seat
and watch the lights go dim, my heart rate increased exponentially. The
stage lights came on. The lines were delivered. As I heard the audience
reel in laughter at the comical moments and quote the quirky connotations,
those 3 words rang in my head. We did it. Though we may not have been the
Tony Award Winners of Imperial College London, it was the smaller things in
the musical that breathed character and life into Major Event. Jian Ting as
he rolled the tables over in "Where is Jimmy?", the girly whimpers as the
audience swooned over Jimmy, the rapturous applause at the awe-inspiring
"Circle of Life". Yes there were mistakes but they were few and far in
between, mostly buried by the immensity of the show and jolly good times
both actor and audience had that night. As the saying goes, do your best,
and when life hands you lemons you can proudly go "I tried ok!" But, I
believe we did more than simply try. We did it.*
*
*
***
Perhaps one of the most momentous moments in Major Event was when Walter
and Bailey embraced each other in their epic epilogues. As I watched Kan
Cong wrap his arms around Paulene with so much passion and love I looked
back and realized how far all of us have come. From the timid and shy boy
who suffers from stage fright to the confident young man on stage, I think
about how Major Event has molded each and everyone of us into something
else. The Actors, whom we could hardly hear a peep from in the beginning
have now a surreal sense of all the factors of production. The Dancers, who
couldn't tell one foot from the other now prance like graceful swans on
stage. The Singers, who melded their voices with the stage as they took on
all sorts of roles. The Musicians, who put together a charged performance
in a matter of weeks. The Set Design team, who worked tirelessly behind the
scenes providing the necessary logistical demands of Major Event. Ticketing
and Publicity, working day and night to make Major Event the sell-out crowd
that allowed the performers to feel the full furor of the production. I
look back and I gaze in awe at how we have come together, as separate
components, as separate teams and as separate entities, to form one
synergistic force to be reckoned with. To become one family.
The Actors. The Dancers. The Singers. The Music. The Backstage Crew. The
Ticketing and Publicity. The Cast and Crew. All those months, weeks and
hours that we will never get back, spent practicing the same scenes over
and over again, striving towards perfecting each step and each note,
painting all the minute details and creating the picture perfect publicity.
The sheer will and belief of each and everyone of the participants
reinforced my own drive as the Major Event Officer, to build a production
that would strengthen the Singaporean Society. There have been
shortcomings, there have been sacrifices and there has been soul-searching.
But no man ever walked alone. As quickly as one fell from the immense
pressure of Major Event, there were several others waiting to pick him up.
The words of encouragement, the shifting of roles, the extra hours of
practice, really brought out the fraternity and sorority of the Major
Event. We refused to give up. We refused to call quits. We refused to say
no.
I watched as the lights came back on one final time and the friends of the
Cast and Crew gush on to stage to present the gifts and good words I knew
that Major Event had been a success, not for me, not for the Exco, but for
the Imperial College Singaporean Society. As Bryan from the 28th came up to
me and patted me on the shoulder, he told me how Major Event had once more
been a wonderful success, not because we had done an outstanding show
(which we did!), but because the cast and crew were not simply standing
with their new-found friends, they were standing with their new-found
family.
Of course not all was glitz and glamour. On the behalf of the 30th
Executive Committee I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate
everyone for their incredibly hard work and determination in making Major
Event the success that it has become, and for your enduring the moments
that seemed to drag by in the endless rush of combined rehearsals. We
understand that some were more unhappy than others, like the Make Up team
whom we did not keep up to date on the change in timeline on the Show Day
itself. Things got hectic and they were given less time than they had hoped
for, but in the end we made it through the thick and thin together. So
before I go I'd like to thank you, each and everyone of you, for being a
part of this wonderful family that we have formed over the past few months.
It has been both a pleasure and honor to work with all of you and I hope
that you will always look back on this day and say to yourself. We did it.
Your Major Event Officer,
Phua Hsuan Te

 3. ICSS Annual General Meeting 2013
Hi everyone!
This will be the final event organized by the 30th Executive Committee,
comprising the presentation of our Annual Report, and of course, the
elections for the 31st Executive Committee! This meeting is crucial to the
future the ICSS as we decide who will take on the roles of leadership and
responsibility within the society for the next year-long term. Details are
as follows:
*Date: 27th February (Wednesday)*
*Time: 1pm onwards*
*Venue: To be Confirmed*
Note that *only ICSS members can attend* this meeting, and that *lunch and
dinner will be provided* for those who register with us online. Simply fill
up this form<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/2w15t-1ez6m-1ne5k7s3te?u=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.…>
Finally,
note that *each nomination needs to be seconded* at the election itself by
at least 2 full members *who are similarly not running for that same
position*.
Now that all the restrictions are clearly stated above, how does one go
about running for the Exco or nominating someone?
*To Nominate Someone*
Simply send an email to agm2013(a)ic-singsoc.net with the following details:
   1. Your membership number (i.e. membership no. of nominator)
   2. Your name
   3. Your contact no.
   4. Your email address
   5. Name of nominee
   6. Contact no. of nominee
   7. Email address of nominee
   8. Position that you wish the nominee to run for
Once the nomination has been received by us, we will contact the nominee to
get his/her agreement, before *publishing the names of both the nominator
and the nominee* onto our website. Note that there *can be nominations at
the elections* itself, similarly requiring at least 2 seconders.
*To Run for Office*
Firstly, if you wish to find out more about the various Exco positions, you
may email any of the current Exco for more information:
President: Ashley Ng – president(a)ic-singsoc.et
Vice-president: Bennett Tan – vicepresident(a)ic-singsoc.net
Secretary: Gabriel Quek – secretary(a)ic-singsoc.net
Treasurer: Ng Zhen Yi – treasurer(a)ic-singsoc.net
Major Event Officer: Phua Hsuan Te – majorevent(a)ic-singsoc.net
Events Officer 1: Lee Ting Wei – eventsofficer1(a)ic-singsoc.net
Events Officer 2: Tan Qian Wen – eventsofficer2(a)ic-singsoc.net
Sports Officer: Teo Kai Qin – sportsofficer(a)ic-singsoc.net
Liaisons Officer: Loy Xing Kai – liaisonsofficer(a)ic-singsoc.net
Alternatively, you can refer to our
constitution<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/2w15t-1ez6m-1ne5k7s3te?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.u…>.
Also, stay tuned for more details that the Exco will be sharing next week.

                        Updates
Hi everyone,
I hope you are all as excited as I am about Major Event: Homecoming this
Saturday! That's in 2 days' time. The cast and crew has really put in a ton
of effort into each and every single aspect of the performance, making it
definitely worth those few hours not spent mugging our heads off like the
average Imperial Singaporean student. Assignments come and go, but as I've
said before, each Major Event happens only once. Sometimes it's good to
just take a break, jump on the bandwagon, and participate in the biggest
event of the year like everyone else. In the meantime, you can take a look
at all the publicity material that has been coming out this past week!
Regarding CNY Dinner, we still have tables available! Consider no longer
and make the decision to come down for this massive gathering! Check out
the lucky draw prizes and doorgifts revealed below! In addition, the signup
deadline has been extended to the *3rd of February (Sunday)*.
Following this is the "Who Boleh? 2013" event, in collaboration with ICUMS.
With Zara vouchers to be won, and won via playing Captain's Ball, computer
games or various card/board games, there's no reason to wait! Please signup
by *8th Februrary (Friday)*.
Next, a little announcement. Those who have a place for Spring Trip but
have not paid please pay by *1st February, Friday*, or your place will be
opened up to those on the waiting list.
On other news, the UCL CNY Carnival is this Sunday. There will be up to
£500 of Selfridges vouchers to be won, and lots of yummy and rare goodies in
the free goodie bags! Check out the post below for more information.
And in the careers section, we have several notable additions, namely: SIA
recruitment, the Public Policy Challenge (PPC) (signup ASAP for this!), and
a PSD info session on careers, internships and the PPC held at UCL after
the CNY carnival.
Finally, applications for the Point Hope Book Prize 2013 are now closed!
The awardees will be presented with their prize at this year's Major Event
2013: Homecoming.
Hope to see you all at our events!
Your faithful secretary,
Gabriel

 1. Major Event 2013 - Homecoming
*
*
*Hi all!

                        Updates
Hi everyone,
Once again I am here to tell you how close we are to the BIGGEST EVENT in
the ICSS calendar! Major Event is essentially *next week*! For those who
have already bought tickets, thankyouverymuch, you will definitely be
treated to a good show. For those who have not yet bought tickets, there is
no time to waste! Give an exasperated "yes" to the friend who has been
bugging you incessantly; find out more about the plot on our facebook event
page. On performance day, you will not regret your decision. And for those
not buying tickets, WHY MISS OUT? Come down to see how acting, singing,
dancing, music and lights all come together in a single show, performed by
fellow Singaporeans and friends no less. Major Event 2013 happens only
once. Never again will you get the same blend of talented and energetic
people. And that is what makes Major Event special, the people: on, off,
and backstage. So please come, for your friends, for ICSS. Your valued
presence will definitely shape the success of Major Event.
On top of that, remember that Reunion dinner is best enjoyed in the company
of those closest to our hearts. We urge you all to attend our annual
Chinese New Year dinner with friends as this is the occasion where everyone
is gathered for a warm hearty meal in the best company. The symbolism of
this event ties in strongly with our theme for the year: Homecoming. We
hope to have the entire ICSS family down in a show of unity. Finally,
please sign up by the *1st of February (Friday)* to aid us in our planning.
Thanks guys!
In the same vein, let us not forget our neighbours across the Johor Strait.
"Who Boleh? 2013" is a collaborative effort between ICSS and ICUMS, with
individual and team prizes of *Zara **vouchers* worth up to £30 and £60
respectively! Use this chance to expand our social circles beyond fellow
Singaporeans to our overseas relatives in Malaysia, and note the signup
deadline of *8th Februrary (Friday)*.
Next, we have a reminder to those who have signed up for Spring Trip.
Please make payment ASAP as there are many interested individuals on the
waiting list and we may have to make adjustments to the allocation if we do
not receive confirmation. Also, Spring Musical signups are now closed.
Note that the deadline for registering to run a stall for the CNY carnival
at UCL is tomorrow, *25th of January*, and that pre-registration entitles
you to a free goodie bag! More info below. Finally, don't forget the 2
Point Hope Book Prizes of £500 plus summer internship that are once again
available. Applications close by *Sunday (27th Janurary) at 11:59pm*.
Spring is busy time, full of life and activity. This seems to be reflected
in our spring calendar, with event coming after event. But I must say that
each of these events are important and meaningful in their own way and are
organised to enrich the experiences of our members. The ICSS thrives on the
vibrancy of its members, so I really hope to see you all there at these
events!
Your faithful secretary,
Gabriel

to watch the Phantom of the Opera on the *12th of February*! This highly
popular, members-only opportunity is the final one for this year, so...
fastest fingers first. Good luck.
Next up, some of us may recall fond memories of the "Who Boleh" series last
year, of dodging bullets and balls, and of going head to head with our
contemporaries from across the Johor Strait in a battle for culinary
supremecy. This year, we once again come together with our neighbours for a
day of fun and games. This time however, we will be having mixed teams from
both societies, which is a chance for all to get to know the Malaysians
better. So don't hesitate to seize this opportunity!
Finally, having heard the voice of the people, we would like to announce
that the ICSS Spring Trip will be to the White Cliffs of Dover! As usual,
first come first served, and your place can only be confirmed upon full
payment. More details below.
And for the career oriented, there is 1 update, in the form of the
Singapore Industry Scholarship.
With that, enjoy Spring! Boing boing.
Your faithful secretary,
Gabriel

 1. Autumn Term Round Up
Dear Friends,
It’s that time of the year again, as the temperature drops below freezing,
that we can all finally sit back and relax after a stressful first term of
school. As Autumn term draws to a close, we would just like to take the
opportunity to say a very big thank you to all our members for all the
support over the past term in building up our home away from home.
To round up the events of the term, we started off the academic year with
our Fresher welcome events followed by our annual Hyde Park Picnic to
welcome everyone back to London. This was followed by our very own
Halloween Party where we got together for a night of scary fun! After that,
we were off to Nottingham to vie for glory amongst the other Singapore
Societies in the UK. Then we had our Ordinary General Meeting to update
everyone on our activities, finances and future plans. Then, it was
shopping and exploring at Ashford and Canterbury respectively, with 2
musical outings sprinkled in between. And, to cap off the term, we had our
annual Christmas Party get-together for a night of feasting and good
company! And throughout all this of course, were our major event rehearsals
and preparations for next term.
As you can see, our Autumn calendar has been amazingly packed and indeed,
the support shown for these events were most heartening, with our trips and
musicals oversubscribed and over 75 people turning up for our end-of-term
Christmas party.
To give everyone an idea of the events that will be organised in the next
term, we have listed the events with their descriptions below.
*Spring Trip: *The destination poll is still ongoing! Participate in it to
get your opinions heard! The standings are shown in the full post below.
*Spring Musicals:* The poll is now closed with Les Miserables and Phantom
of the Opera winning by large margins!
*Chinese New Year Dinner: *Do not miss our oldest tradition, our annual
Reunion Dinner! This year, it will be held on Chinese New Year Eve
(9thFebruary 2013), so do keep a look out for publicity which will be
released
early next term!
*Collaboration Event with ICUMS: *A tradition started only last year,
previously dubbed the "Who Boleh" series, we are continuing with the
collaborative events with the Malaysian society to help us get to know our
closest neighbours!
*Major Event: *Need we say more? Do refer to the publicity piece below and
get your tickets early! Also, do keep a lookout for our 30th Anniversary
special minor event to be held in conjunction with Major Event this year!
We, the 30th Exco would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our
members for your strong show of support of our events. As we head into the
Spring term, we hope that the society will progress forward together as we
shoot for the sky with our annual highlight Major Event. With your help, we
hope to make the year even more exciting in Spring! Once again thank you
guys, and to those going on the Ski Trip, see you there! To everyone else,
do take care in the cold weather and have a very Merry Christmas and Happy
Holidays!
With love,
30th Executive Committee

*
*Hi all!
As the term draws to a close, much work has been done and time has been
spent on practicing, rehearsing and making the 2nd of February a little bit
more memorable. Do remember all the steps you've learnt, all the songs

importantly, remember to enjoy yourself, especially those going on the ICSS

Come January it will be the final push before Major Event, we will be

practices going on. The load will get heavier, but know that at the end of
the day, it will be worth it. It will be worth all the blood, sweat and
tears put in. You can look forward to sharing that moment of joy when it is
all over with the friends and family who have come down to watch this
production that you have become a part of.

 3. Christmas Party
A big thank you to everyone who for the ICSS Christmas Party 2012!
Undoubtedly it was your enthusiasm that made it such a big success! Kudos
to the Ah Boys below for their impromptu performance and the chorale team
on the right for their wonderful carols!
Not to mention, the numerous Iron-Chefs-in-the-making for the tonnes of
good food! Our very own curry puff queen was crowned Iron Chef at the
party, and guess what, even the strawberries came dressed for the occasion!
Some of us had to prove ourselves in the Human Bingo game,
while others took the Relay with Kisses game pretty seriously.
Finally, in the gift exchange with a twist, some of us got what we wanted,
others...well... will have to make do. At least he's happy. (:
This is probably the first Christmas that many of you are spending away
from home but we sincerely hope that everyone of you had enjoyed yourselves
celebrating this festive season with your new-found friends in your Home
Away from Home.
Do look forward to more exciting ICSS events in store for you all next term!
Warmest Regards,
The 30th Exco

Hi everyone,
As we all begin our internal countdown to the end of term, let us not
forget to celebrate Christmas in the warm company of the ICSS family.
That's right, Christmas Party is tonight! With games, good food and
friends, not to mention the final collection of ICSS membership cards this
year, what's there not to look forward to? Note that the EEE toilets are
undergoing maintenance and the nearest toilets are in Sherfield building.
In addition, the Spring Trip and Spring Musical Polls are now online and
open for voting. Cast your votes through the links below!
Thirdly, limited edition Sojourn 2012 T-shirts are still up for grabs!
Finally, we are still looking for photo submissions for use in this year's
Retrospect.
Less than a week left to ski trip! Can't wait to escape this cold and
dreary English winter to a colder but exciting winter in Tignes! Check your
emails often, ready your gear, and let us go where the cold wind blows.
More strongly. Ski trip ftw!
Your faithful secretary,
Gabriel

                        Updates
Hi everyone,
First off, some updates.
For Christmas Party, don't forget to bring a small gift (<£5), unwrapped,
as we are providing a gift wrapping service. All the better to play the
MAD SANTA GIFT EXCHANGE. Come down to experience this twist on the standard
gift exchange. Also, sign up for free Santa hats/Reindeer antlers! See the
post below for more information.
Limited stock of Sojourn T-shirts are on sale; contact Xing Kai to order it.
Coincidentally, Xing Kai also happens to be *gathering photos* for this
years' 30th Anniversary Retrospect yearbook. Send him pictures of all the
cool places you've been to, and your coolness will be immortalised forever.
Good deal, in my opinion.
Secondly, as we conclude the never-ending flurry of Autumn events with the
Canterbury trip and Wicked II outing, we also look forward to MORE TRIPS
and MORE MUSICAL OUTINGS in Spring. Please send the relevant people (this
can be found below!) any suggestions you may have by their respective
deadlines.
Finally, all careers posts will now be summarized into 1! The full details
for each, if it interests you, can now be found in the spanking new careers
section in our ICSS
website<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/2p5u5-1ez6m-10m6vr7f9r?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.u…>

With just over 2 weeks to Ski Trip, I'm already dreaming of a white
Christmas... sigh.

You may have had to carry an umbrella and step into puddles the whole day,
but I hope the weather did not spoil your mood and you had fun exploring
the Canterbury Cathedral, having tea at Tiny Tim’s Tearoom, buying plenty
at Poundland and of course, taking a lovely walk about the city centre. (:
Thanks everyone who came for trip; your punctuality and co-operation were
honestly much appreciated and this trip couldn’t have been a success
without your active participation. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves on
this trip and do look out for our next trip in Spring! (:
Your friendly events officer,

Gabriel
