1. Major Event Fundraising
Hello Everyone!
A big thank you to everyone who came down for Mix and Mingle on Monday! We
hope that all of you had a great time! Also to all the participants, we
hope you are all settling well in your respective teams.
In Major Event, we want to explore new ways to meet our objectives of
bonding our Singsoc members and showcasing our Singaporean culture. Thus,
we would like to introduce a *fundraising proposal *as a new way of meeting
these objectives while raising funds to improve the welfare of our
participants.
The proposal is to hold a series of small fundraising events across the
academic calendar. An idea is to set up booths around campus selling food,
handicrafts and other items that are uniquely Singaporean. The proceeds of
these events will be used to improve the welfare of our participants, i.e.
more food during trainings etc. Any additional proceeds will go to charity.
We hope that these fundraising events would allow volunteers to interact
with different people in Singsoc, allow us to promote the Singaporean
culture to the Imperial Community through the food and items we sell and
have a platform to publicize Major Event. We also hope that with the
greater flexibility in timing, many of you can support Major Event and it’s
participants through these one-off fundraisers.
With that, we hope that you could help us complete a survey HERE
<http://union.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d91a1cb130f12317830464586&id…>
so
that we can get your feedback and see if we can gather the response to
start this initiative.
We hope that you can support us!
Your grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes Major Event Officer,
Jasper
