Here's the latest from IC Radio: * Committee Elections: vote by filling in the form in this email * IC Radio lunches * Be a guest on an established show to complement your studio training Manifestos Head of Promotions - Shivani Dave I would like the role of head of promotions to really springboard the engagement with IC Radio across campus. >From having prize giveaways to increase social media engagement to having promotional videos and even stash worn around campus so people really know who we are and boost brand awareness. We have a strong history of music shows at the station but I want to promote the ability to host speech shows for specific societies to raise issues people in their communities face, for example the feminist society or LGBT community. To do this I will work closely with other Union societies and the Head of Programming. Mostly I just want to help to make IC Radio the best it can be by boosting engagement with listeners and presenters. ________________________________ IT Manager - John Oliver “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams” – Oprah Winfrey I am running for the position of IT Manager for ICRadio because I feel I have a fairly good understanding of the importance and technical requirements of the IT systems of a small online radio station, as well as the knowledge to underpin good IT practice. I hope that my current and ongoing experience as the DramSoc Systems Administrator would be helpful in this regard, as I have experience with Windows and UNIX-based systems, as well as general technical knowledge as a result of the practical work undertaken with DramSoc. Thank you, members of ICRadio, for considering me for the role, and I look forward to being able to ensure a good continuity of service for the society in these turbulent times. ________________________________ IT Manager - Fraser May Although I have no formal IT experience, I have worked on many personal projects and helped out friends and family with a number of IT related issues. For example setting up dedicated servers for multiplayer games, and designing/building websites to teach myself about different programming languages and frameworks. Dear radio members, Apologies for spamming the radio mailing list, but we have definitely had at least one person interested in being the IT manager, and given the importance of our IT system to the radio we really need someone whose sole role is to take care of it. I should mention that the website and members' area is coded in about 4 different languages and is definitely the kind of thing that looks good on your CV (I feel slightly dirty selling it like that, but it needed to be done). Hello, There's an event in the union tonight, so when you ask Security to be allowed into the West Basement (and not pay the £4 entry fee), ASK TO BE ALLOWED IN TO THE RADIO SOCIAL AND NOT THE BEER AND BISCUITS SOCIAL!!! Reminder, Schedule wipe for the new academic year 30/09/17

Hey All, Just a quick reminder that the icradio show schedule will be wiped clear at 1200 hours (midday) on 30/09/17. To apply for a new slot, please email IC Radio Programming icrprogramming(a)imperial.ac.uk<mailto:icrprogramming@imperial.ac.uk> AFTER 1200 hrs on 30/09/17 with the name of your show and the requested time slot. In the interest of fairness; SLOT REQUESTS RECEIVED BEFORE 1200 HRS 30/09/17 WILL NOT BE ACTED ON, and SHOWS WILL BE ASSIGNED ON A FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED BASIS. For example, a slot request received at 1159 will not be acted on, and an email that arrives at 1200 hrs asking for 1200-1300 on Wednesday will get that slot instead of an email asking for the same slot that is received at 1201 hrs. Requested slots in prime time, for example on Wednesday lunchtime and to a lesser extent other lunchtimes, should generally be no longer than one hour, as we want to make sure a decent number of people get good slots and no-one’s hogging the choicest airwaves too much. Longer slots during times that are less in-demand like Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays should be ok, as long as you’re not asking for something silly like a six-hour slot on Mondays or something. I’ll be refreshing my email at 1200 hours on the day and will let you know as soon as possible whether you have your slot or not so you can ask for another if one’s already taken.
