Schedule wipe for the new academic year 30/09/17

Hey All, Long time no see, hope that everyone’s still enjoying the last dregs of summer and aren’t thinking too hard about heading back to Uni. However, the start of the new year is indeed looming, and with it the opportunity for icradio to de-clutter the current show schedule. The schedule will be wiped on 30/09/17 to clear out the older and less active shows and give new shows a chance to establish themselves in decent slots come the new term. To clarify, SHOWS THEMSELVES WILL NOT BE DELETED, the only thing that’ll get changed is the allocation of regular slots on the station’s schedule, which you can view on the icradio members’ area. As you may have noticed, the wipe is going down before the fresher’s fair. This means that you guys, the current icradio members, get a bit of advanced notice, so if you’re intending to be active this year and put out loads of top-quality content in a particular slot then you’ve got the chance to get it. I’ll be sending out another reminder email a week before the wipe goes down, it’ll be first come first served so make sure to be fast to get the slot you want! Long Live the Croc! Thomas

Hi everyone, Long time no chat; I'm sure you've all been busy with your shows. The quality of programming this year has been excellent, so thank you all on behalf of IC Radio. If you've enjoyed being a part of the society this year, the next logical step is to join our wonderful committee! We will be holding our AGM on Tuesday 21st March in the West Basement's Shared Studio at 18:00. So, if you fancy running for a position please submit a manifesto, of approximately 300 words, to our Returning Officer, Arran - arran.hobson-sayers13(a)imperial.ac.uk - by 20th March. A list of available positions can be found attached; feel free to email those currently holding the position for more info on the role. Additionally, if you or any of your friends are more interested in running a radio station than appearing on air, we would strongly encourage you to run for Technical Manager or IT Manager. On the 9th come down to the XMAS CURRY NIGHT which will involve DRINKING and SPICY FOOD and seeing the faces of the people you share the airwaves with. We will be heading up to Brick Lane for a great curry and then to some bars afterwards, and a club to show everyone why we do Radio and not TV. So after our call for applications to the role of deputy station manager we have been lucky enough to have a candidate! Please see Ellie's manifesto below: Having always been passionate about radio I would love to be considered for the role of Deputy Station Manager Music of course is the key component of IC Radio’s output and a university station is an amazing opportunity to learn a skill and share the music that you love. As head of content I would hope to get this message out there and to find and encourage those who are passionate about music of any genre to take the opportunity to produce a show. As well as this it would be my aim to expand IC Radio’s non-music output, working with other societies and departments to increase the number of magazine shows, dramas, one-off documentaries and interviews so that the station reflects what’s happening across the expanse of Imperial’s academic and wider interests. A seasoned IC Radio member, having had my own show back in the old studio days, I have also spent time in the last year interning for an indie BBC content production company. There I was a researcher for a wide range of shows and prepped interviews for Johnnie Walker and Terry Wogan. I also recently returned to help with the upcoming rounds of Radio 1 and 1Xtra pitches, putting together proposals for programmes and documentaries. All this has left me with a good grasp of the help needed for radio of various kinds and I would love to continue that at IC Radio next year. Thanks! Deputy Station Manager Elections

Hey everyone! Hope exams/deadlines are going well, Unfortunately at our last AGM we were unable to fill our deputy station manager spot. As the year is drawing to a close we would like to open the floor to any other nominations for the role (feel free to email Rob to get an overview of the role on rg2112(a)ic.ac.uk<mailto:rg2112@ic.ac.uk>). Please note you will require a seconder for this role.
