iCU Cinema Newsletter Monday 20th October Welcome to a new year at Imperial, and a new year for the iCU Cinema! The new committee has been working hard to make things work around the Beit redevelopment and we can finally release the showing schedule for this term! We'll send you a reminder of what's on the week before we show it, and very soon you'll be able to find everything online again at www.union.ic.ac.uk/cinema. We apologise for the irregular days, we have to let other societies use the UCH now that the gym is a building site. Any changes to the schedule will be well advertised. The Price 1 Film - £3 (£4 for non-members) 2 Films - £5 (£7 for non-members) Film prices are per person and per night. The Location We are located in the Union Concert Hall (UCH), this is on the 2nd floor of the union building in Beit Quad. For everyone that doesn't know how to get to the UCH, there will be signs pointing you in the correct direction from the main entrance to the union building. Just a quick reminder that the All Nighter is tomorrow (well actually today, but I like to think it's still yesterday and that I haven't spent the last few hours watching zero punctuation [thank you John] ). For those who have forgotten, it starts at 18:00 in the Union Concert Hall, on level 2 of the Union on Tuesday 11th December. Ticket prices are 1 Film - £3 2 Films - £5 3 Films - £7 4 Films - £9 All Night - £11 Since I'm being nice I thought I'd throw in posters for all purchases (as long as supplies last) so feel free to grab a poster. Hi everyone (again today), I know what you've all been waiting for, an event that will keep many of us entertained all...night...long.... I'm of course talking about the Winter All Nighter. This year we've got an amazing line up for you guys. On Tuesday 11th December the iCU Cinema (2nd Floor Union Building) proudly presents 18:00 - Ratatouille (U) 20:20 - Stardust (PG) 23:10 - The Kingdom (15) 01:30 - Michael Clayton (15) 04:00 - Shoot Em Up (18) 06:00 - Eastern Promises (18) (Finish 7:40) As an added bonus, the Union will be running the bar during all intervals after 11pm. Don't forget you can bring your drink back up with you so stock up! Of course the box office will be selling their normal assortment of sweets along with popcorn bags and hopefully ice cream! You'll notice the bar shuts just before The Kingdom starts.... Hi All! We're back in action properly for next week! We'll be showing the much acclaimed Atonement and Ocean's Thirteen. Tuesday 13th November 18:00 Ocean's Thirteen. 21:00 Atonement. Note that after next week there will be a two week break for DramaSoc and MedDramaSoc's (I don't know why they are separate...) to put on various shows. Hello everybody! This is just a gentle reminder that there are no films this week although drama soc are going to be putting on some nice events so feel free to check those out. The Cinema won’t feel betrayed in any way… really… However next week as part of RISE Week (London United Against Racism) organized by our one and only Deputy President of Education and Welfare along with other College’s around London we will be showing two foreign language films. Hi everybody. Sorry for the later than usual email but due to my paranoia about spamming people. So I decided to leave it until I knew all the facts. So first the bad news. There will be no Cinema night on Tuesday due to graduation hiring out the UCH, or next week on Tuesday 30th or November 1st. However, to make up for it we will be showing (back due to popular demand) The Transformers on Thursday 25th together with the CGCU. The Transformers Thursday 18:30 Price: £3 or Free if you are a CGCU wrist band holder. Plus bottled beer will be available at the box office! A little more about the film *Transformers* is a 2007 live action film directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, based on the Transformers franchise. The film stars Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, who has the coordinates to the location of the Allspark, an object at the center of the war between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. The film also stars Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight, John Turturro, and Hugo Weaving as the voice of Megatron. Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime in the 1980s cartoon, reprised the role for the film. ...yeah sorry about the subject.. me and my roommate laughed a lot at that but we realise we're not that funny... Welcome to the cinema list for those who haven't been on it yet, and to those who have.. well we've got you now so it doesn't matter what I say to you. (Just kidding, I love you all) The iCU Cinema located in the Union Concert Hall (2nd floor of the Union), and has an impressive 35" projection screen providing one of the best cinematic experiences in London. As usual, tickets on the night are £3 or £5 for both showings, but this year we're trialling a new 10 ticket bulk buy and bringing back the term pass. The ten ticket bulk purchase are 10 non transferable tickets for £15 - however you will have to use them by term end. The Term Pass is available for £30 which will let you watch any movie for this term for no additional fee. Both will be available (eventually) on the Union website, and from the box office before/after showings.
