Hi everyone,
Last week's BUCS competitions have been enormously successfull for the Imperial College Judo Club. In short: 1 bronze, 1 silver and 1 team bronze - More information (and a rather longish article) on our website (http://www.union.ic.ac.uk/acc/judo/index.php) Please read!
As is tradition, we have our Annual General Meeting (AGM) before we break up for the Easter holidays. At the AGM we will elect a new committee for the next academic year. As the club is solely run by students, your commitment is very much needed. Please send an email to me (wk06(a)doc.ic.ac.uk) if you want to stand for election. Please also contact me if you feel like you want to get involved but don't know how much work this is going to entail. The positions are:
Chairman
Treasurer
Secretary
Captain
Furthermore I would like to encourage you all to get tickets to the ACC dinner next Wednesday (https://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/acc-exec-360/category.html) We have a few nominations - one is for Team of the Year! Please come along to support your club! For this reason, the session next Wednesday will be CANCELLED.
See you on the mat!
Wilhelm
This is a message from Tony Sweeney (Budokwai):
Just a line to mention that Mr Kashiwazaki will be teaching
tomorrow at the Budokwai. He will do half an hour with the intermediates
and one hour with advanced, so arriving at 7pm for 7.30pm would be a good
time.
If you want to attend, please drop me a line ASAP!!

Hi everyone,
This is a reminder for everyone who hasn't applied for a licence to do so now! Membership can be obtained from here:
https://www.secure-website.com/britishjudo/online_application.htm
Please do so immediately as it is a requirement for all members of our club to be members of the BJA. No licence means no gradings, no competitions and no insurance cover.
On another note, please can all those who wish to compete at BUCS send me their details! I need the following:
Name, Licence No, Weight Category and Grade
Please reply asap, we need to sort hotels out!!!
See you on the mat!
Will

Guys,
This is for the tournament in Paris on the 7th of February.
Plan is to get to Paris Friday (6th Feb) afternoon 3pm train arriving 7pm. We will leave Sunday (8 Feb) 8pm back in London at 10pm. Eurostar tickets cost 100 quid each. There will be a further fee of 50 Euros for the competition and 2 nights stay in Paris plus meals for whole of Saturday and Sunday breakfast. After which you can either watch the Paris International Tournament on Sunday or get a transport ticket to visit Paris - This would cost 30 Euros.
Total expenditure would be about 200 quid which I think is rather steep. However, there is the chance to either see Paris or watch a world class tournament while get the chance to gain some competition experience.
We are able to form one brown / black belt team but it would be good if more people would join us.
Please indicate your interest by next Wednesday 14 Jan if you would like to join. Include your weight and belt colour so that I can form groups.
Regards.
Eugene
