The British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Judo competition is soon approaching. The competition will be held over 14-16 February, we will leave Friday afternoon and return on Sunday. We'll be going by minibus and staying in Sheffield for the weekend, although you can make your own way their if you wish. The registration and weigh ins are held on Friday evening, individual competitions on Saturday and team competitions on Sunday.
To be able to enter you must be an Imperial College student, and graded to at least 4th kyu (Orange belt) by the time of the competition. If you're not sure if you will be that grade in time but want to enter, just put your name down anyway and let us know.
The competition is split into the following weight categories:
Mens weight categories: Over 100 kg, Under 100kg, Under 90kg, Under 81kg, Under 73kg, Under 66kg, Under 60kg
Womens weight categories: Over 78kg, Under 78kg, Under 70kg, Under 63kg, Under 57kg, Under 52kg, Under 48kg

The London Area Universities & Colleges Competition is approaching (Sunday 10th Nov). I'm very much looking forward to some quality judo! It's a fantastic opportunity if you haven't competed in the sport before. If you would like to enter please use the online entry form. The deadline for responses is Wednesday 30th October. On this occasion there is a very short window to register. Please ensure you read all the information below if you wish to compete. If you have any questions feel free to let me know.

Requirements:
- You must hold a valid BJA licence or licence in a current affiliated association
- All competitors must also be in full or part-time further education
- If you do not currently have a judo licence, you can apply for one using the student voucher scheme. Information on this is on the first page of the entry form.
Entry Prices for Competitors:
Juniors (under 20 yrs): £20
Seniors (20 yrs +): £20
If you were under 20 on the 1st of September 2019 you may enter both the Juniors and Seniors for £30.

There you will find two competition products: One for a single entry for either the Juniors or Seniors (£20) and another one for entry to both (£30).

The competition is split into the following weight categories (kg):
Young Women (Groups 1 & 2): u44, u48, u52, u57, u63, u70, +70
Young Men (Groups 5 & 6): u55, u60, u66, u73, u81, u90, +90
Senior Women (Groups 3 & 4): u48, u52, u57, u63, u70, u78, +78
Senior Men (Groups 7 & 8): u60, u66, u73, u81, u90, u100, +100
The competition will also be divided based on grade/belt; if you're a white belt you won't be competing against brown or black belts.

Dear all,
The University of London have organised an open randori session this Friday 25th October, 7-9:30 pm, especially for people interested in competing in the upcoming London University Open competition next month. All grades are welcome, and they expect to have around 40 players on the mats, making it a good opportunity to train with new people. Attendance is £5 to be paid in cash to their committee members, and you must register beforehand here
