Collaboration Opportunity: Support Imperial Marrow’s Life-Saving Mission

Dear SingSoc, I hope this email reaches you well. We are Imperial Marrow, a student-led branch of the Anthony Nolan charity, dedicated to saving the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders through stem cell donations and research. We regularly collaborate with societies and organizations to raise awareness and funds for this important cause. We would love to know if you would be open to collaborating, especially as we could do with the exposure to the large audience that your society has. Additionally, as there is currently a shortage of ethnic minority and mixed-race donors in the stem cell donor register, you can see how especially important it is for us to recruit potential donors from across different backgrounds, like members of societies like yours. Therefore, we would be very grateful for this opportunity, as it only takes a couple of minutes to explain how easy it is to join the stem cell donor register and how it could save someone’s life. If your society is open to it, we’d be excited to discuss ways we can collaborate, whether through a shoutout during an event, a quick 5-minute talk, a fundraising effort, or even helping with promotion to make it a bigger success for both of us. The importance of maintaining good relations with foreign countries in this day and age cannot be understated, and our country's continued efforts to foster international diplomacy are admirable. It is truly inspiring to see such a prominent figure representing Singapore on a global stage, especially given that Mdm President is the first female president in Singapore's history. The precedent she has set serves to encourage young girls to unflinchingly pursue roles in largely male-dominated industries such as politics. Its been some time since the last Kaya and Toast and we hope everyone has had a lovely summer. We hope that everything is going well in London yeah? (: We've had a tremendously successful Pre-Departure Talk, our first physical one in three years. It was only possible with the generous support of YOU, our ICSS senior community, who put up an amazing show guiding our Freshers on the ins and outs of living in London. Someone even made slides to present to the Freshers (iykyk ;)). We've organised an amazing Sojourn, VESMIR 2022, where we brought together the entire SingSoc Community in Singapore for 3 days of fun. We made great memories and friends that will last a lifetime. This was only possible withe the support of our awesome OGHs, OGLs and Seniors who were involved in every step of Sojourn planning. Then we followed up with UKBound, Mums and Dads and Academeet. Freshers were able to gain valuable advice from their seniors and party the night away with Freshers from other universities.
