Hiya all, *No AGM tomorrow!* The union has advised people to either delay or run AGMs online - we've decided to choose the online option. Logistics are to be worked out but this does put a much greater importance on manifestos so be sure to send them in! (remember to send to icu-caving-announce(a)imperial.ac.uk as well or get one of the committee to sort this). Reply to this email if you want to come to either trip! With this trip and in wake of the recent incident (it may also be continued going forward), can you include *your full name and CID number* in any sign-up email. * Alumni's I've been mildly incompetent and forgot to query what to do if you're not comfortable sharing your emergency contacts with the union - I will sort this! The Yorkshire trip will be a joint trip with NUCC (Nottingham uni caving club). Obviously weather predictions are impossible however current thoughts are Easegil if wet (some interest in a group to run off to Foul pot as well). Easegil has lots of possible options for trips so we can adjust them to suit anyone. Dry weather options are open to discussion however if possible running up to masongil and retrieving some rope will be highly worthwhile (Large and Marble Steps still rigged). We will be staying in the NPC as normal, a rather wonderful place with a wood burner. We actually have a confirmed minibus in advance for once, it's KYW so we have 15 seats available. I know some people have been expressing interest in caving with little / no training in srt (tree training!). Our next trip is to the *Mendips, 7th to 9th Feb*! I appreciate this is short notice however it's perfect if you haven't made any weekend plans yet. For those that like to plan ahead; a Derbyshire trip is planned for the 21st to 23rd Feb and the Slovenian expedition will be 3rd July to 9th August. The Mendips trip is a great one to go to if you haven't had the chance to come caving with us yet,* no experience or training required*. It's a lovely region of the country (I am highly biased) with many fun trips of varied length and beauty. There will almost certainly be a stop at a certain cider barn over the weekend as well, considerably nicer cider that in the union! There are also some SRT caving options that we go for if some of you fancy that. Easter Tour Dates

TLDR; Caving in Greece, 30/03 - 08/04. If you want to come, read the whole email. *##### Tour info #####* This Easter we are planning to spend 7-9 days in central Evia, the second largest island in Greece and only a short drive from Athens. There will be opportunities to explore caves within the Skoteino Mountain on most of these days. We are looking to stay at accommodation near the village of Konistres, 2 hours from Athens airport. We will also have the option of setting up camp on the Vromonera plateau, which has good access to the majority of the caves on the Skoteino Mountain. *#### General ####* The format of Easter tour, whilst it may change slightly, tends to be as follows: - Travel from stores as a group, to the airport, fly away, hire some cars and drive to the middle of nowhere. - Buy copious quantities of bread and cheese for lunch, and wine for dinner, rumour has it we cook evening meals too. - Throughout the stay, we will go caving, likely including trips with local cavers. - The caves will be pretty and warm and big, just like Yorkshire! - Other activities often include canyoning or via Ferrata, maybe even climbing. If you have anything in mind then let us know! - When the destination village has run out of cheese and wine, we will head back to the airport and fly home. *##### Caving Ability #####* *You need to have done some in-cave SRT* *to go on this tour* as, although there is a lot of horizontal caving, even the most horizontal system in the area requires dropping a couple of small pitches. If you have any questions about this then please do ask, we try and ensure as many people can enjoy our trips as possible. *##### Costs and Dates #####* The cost will probably be around *~£300-350/pp. *This is subject to change but we will try and make sure that it is as low as possible! The price includes transport, accommodation, kit hire and food. The proposed dates are 30th March - 8th April. We can push back the start date if needed but the flights will be more expensive. *Please reply if you want to come to the tour and whether 30/03 - 08/04 works for you*. All those involved are safe and healthy although very happy to see the surface. However after this we have decided to cancel the next trip and potentially the ones after it. After something like this occurs it is important for the club to reflect upon it to prevent it occurring again and we need time to do this. Previous trip dates posted on the website are now inaccurate, apologies to those of you planning to come to the Mendips trip. It will be going ahead but at a later date, an exact date should be sent out about two weeks before. The weekly pub social will still be occurring from 17:00 on Tuesdays in FiveSixEight though we may move in hunt of food. Feel free to email or message one of us if you want to know where we are. The total cost will be approximately £300-350/pp. The tour will last for about 7 days from around the 21st-29th March (plus or minus a few days to optimise travel costs) - i.e. right after the end of second term.
