Unfortunately they don't have a website, but it's a bar / grill type place with prices of around £15 for dinner! Hi Everyone! Club sessions as usual this week, 6 until 8pm in the Flowers Building. You'll be pleased to know that you finally have swipe card access to the front door, so no more standing out in the cold! Christmas Dinner! A date for your diaries, this year's bridge club christmas dinner will be taking place on Monday the 12th of December! The venue is still being decided, but please let me know if you can make it on that day! Hi everyone! Club session as usual this Monday - 6 until 8pm in the Flowers building. We will be running another free play session, with opportunity for you to request some teaching on those subjects you feel you just haven't quite grasped! Hi Everyone! Hope you're al having a good weekend, just a couple of quick announcements this week First of all, I've included the presentation regarding balanced hands, so have a look at that and let me know if there's anything you're not clear on Secondly, this week we will be repeating the introduction to bridge talk, so if you've been thinking of dropping by but feel that the beginner's group has bypassed you, this is the perfect chance to become (re)acquainted with the game! As always the committee members are happy to help with anyone interested in improving their game no matter what the level so feel free to come along and join in! Hi everyone, many thanks to all who played in the friendly match against LSE yesterday, it was a lot of fun, and great to see so many of you there, especially some of our less experienced players! some quick updates for your information then: Club Session our regular club session will run tomorrow evening as usual from 6 until 8pmin the flowers building. For those interested Jorrit will be giving a short talk on defence, something not to be missed for the aspiring bridge player! We will of course be heading down to the union afterwards, so please come along for that too. Fresher's Dinner! We will be having our fresher's dinner one week from now, on Monday the 7thof November! We will be heading over to Garfunkel's<http://www.garfunkels.co.uk/node/688> next to gloucester road tube station straight after next week's session, so if you'd like to join us for that please reply to this email or let me know at tomorrow's session. Hi all - quite a lengthy email this week, but full of useful information! Club Session! Our club session will take place as usual this evening in the Flowers building, so please swing by. I'll be giving a short lesson for those who are interested on responding to first level bids, which will be followed by examples and social play. As usual we will be heading to the Union bar afterwards, so feel free to join us for a drink from 8pm. Fresher's Dinner! Our fresher's dinner will this year be taking place at Garfunkel's<http://www.garfunkels.co.uk/node/688>next to Gloucester Road Tube station on Monday the 7th November, so keep the date free! We'll be going over straight after the club session that day, so no excuses for not turning up! Please let me know if you plan on attending so that we can get table bookings sorted out early! Friendly match vs. LSE - this weekend! We have been invited to play a friendly match against LSE Bridge Society this Saturday the 29th October! Players of all levels are very welcome, and this is a great opportunity for new players from both clubs to get some more experience! If you are interest, please email <imperialbridgeclub(a)gmail.com>me, or let me know at tonight's session! Don't worry about partnerships for now, just let myself or one of the committee members know if you're interested, and we can match you up! London Cup! As you may or may not be aware, this November (Saturday 26th) we will be organising a tournament in conjunction with the LSE Bridge Society, with teams from Oxford, Southampton and other London Universities already confirmed! We will be entering up to 2 teams, and this is a great opportunity to gain some experience and meet bridge players from other universities, so please let me know if you are interested in playing! I will be sending out reminders and more details nearer the time, so stay tuned for that! RCC Exec Elections! There are currently two vacant positions on the RCC Exec: Equipment Officer and Communications Officer. Nominations are now open and as a member of an RCC club, you are eligible to run! Please find the relevant information included below, and contact me if you have any queries. To stand you need to send an email to rccexec(a)imperial.ac.uk cc'ing in 1 proposer and 10 seconders (all full union members). Nominations will close at 6pm on Tuesday 8 November. I've copied the role descriptions below for you to see: 6.4. The Equipment Officer shall 6.4.1. Be responsible to the Chair for the efficient administration and upkeep of central RCC equipment. 6.4.2. Ensure club equipment officers (or those with equivalent responsibilities) to review equipment records at least twice a year. 6.4.3. To be responsible for any equipment required by the RCC Night Hike and any other RCC social event. 6.4.4. Assist clubs, with the RCC Treasurer, to gain equipment discounts. 6.6. The Communications Officer shall 6.6.1. Assist the promotion of and advertising of the RCC club activities within Imperial College Union 6.6.2. Assist clubs, with the RCC Treasurer, in preparing IC Trust & Harlington Trust applications. 6.6.3. Hi Everyone! It was so great to see so many of you at our first session, so let's keep it up! We will be meeting as usual this MONDAY evening, from 6 until 8pm in the Flowers building! This will of course be followed by our weekly trip down the union after, so make sure you come along! Many thanks to all of you who came to our stall at the Fresher's Fair, it was amazing to see so many people interested in learning to play this awesome game!
