Hi, Xmas party, Congratulations, holiday Projects and holiday shows. First, a reminder that you're invited to our Xmas/end of term party tonight, shared with Felix and STOIC. There will be lots of *free food *so do come and take advantage of it! From 7 o'clock in the shared studio (next door to the radio studio). Secondly, well done to everyone who has been doing a show this year, particularly if you've done it every week or if it's your first term doing a radio show. Keep it up! Thirdly, if you're looking for something to do with your four weeks and fancy doing something a bit technical, there is a list of about 100 things which need to be done to improve the website/backend/studio hardware in some way. Drop me an email and you can have something to look at over the holidays. Please don't just leave it to others! You are of course welcome to continue doing your shows during the holidays. Only once announcement but it's a good'un... Christmas Party The ICRadio & Friends Media Xmas party is happening this Wednesday from 19:00 (till we get kicked out), in the Beit West Basement Studio. What to look forward to: * Free food (including our beloved biscuit selection) * Live music from DJs within the Media societies * A LIVE broadcast from 20:00. A party. On the radio. Madness expected. * Drinkies from the Union (BYOB) After all the training, uploading music, reviews, interviews, messing up first shows, fiddling with dials and buttons - this will be a well-earned party. Monday Night 6.30pm @ Union Beer and Banter (no biscuits this time, apologies). The last bar night of the term, come along and mingle! The Christmas Party Keep this date free: Wednesday 11th December Exact details to be confirmed in next weeks announce. It may include a live radio show. It will definitely involve biscuits. JCR Listen out for ICRadio being played out in the JCR, in between STOIC TV productions. Coming soon, spread the good news. Also, we are pestering the Union to put a live link on their website. Banners Add some colour to the ICRadio website - create and send in your show banners (dimensions 1024x300). The name of your show and some funky designs will do, any information that you have written on the Members Area will appear above the banner automatically. Check out the website for inspiration. Hi everyone, There's been a drop out so: One place available for Saturday's masterclass from 2:00 till 3:30 (ish) . The best training (sorry Keir) you'll get all year and it's completely free (to radio members). First to reply to me gets it. Here's the spiel: Roushan is an IC Radio alumnus who now works as a producer for BBC Radio 1, working with the likes of Scott Mills, Greg James, Zane Lowe and Annie Mac. He'll be running a session on how to produce and present a high quality radio show focusing on on: links, programme structure, planning and presentation. He's also going to show you how to best use social media to talk to your audience. You should also bring along a recording of ~3 of your links to listen to - these are the bits where you talk between songs. You can download an mp3 from the members area and free software like Audacity is easy to use to edit out the songs. Make sure you keep the beginning and ending of songs. Happy radioing, George

Dear radio-folk, ICRadio has a packed schedule on most weekdays but I know there are interested people who are yet to start, so the future looks bright. Some of you have already been going a month - you have made a lot of progress! Remember - you ain't Nick Grimshaw yet so do ask questions. DramaSoc Radio Play Workhop DramaSoc will begin performing radio plays on ICRadio! In preparation, they are holding a special workshop on Tuesday (6.30pm) in Meeting Room 4, Union. They will need people with radio know-how to help them along the way, so if any of you re interested in hosting or producing this, get along. Don't worry, I'm not asking you to actually take part in the acting! Though if you want to... Masterclass with Roushan Alam ICRadio alumnus and current BBC Radio 1 Producer will be running a session exclusively for ICRadio on how to produce a high-quality radio show. This fantastic opportunity is happening next Saturday (30th) for the first 10 members who sign up. If there is sufficient demand, a second session may be held. Hi folks, I'm afraid the *Rivendell screen is broken*. The tech team are trying to fix it but they have degrees to do too so be patient. This is really hard work as it involves listening to music, clicking a few buttons and going to the occasional free gig. 13:00 tomorrow at the studio. Also, keep in your diary the 30th November. Roushan Alam of Radio 1, he's worked with Greg James, Zane Lowe and Annie Mac amongst others, is doing a *masterclass* that afternoon for us. Details to follow this Saturday.
