There has been lots of high quality radio from you guys over the past year, and every single entry gets feedback from the judges who are all professional radio people, so well worth your time to make a demo to enter! Remember, there are two new awards categories this year - Best Sports Programming, and Multi-Platform Initiative, so if you have a Sports Show at your station, or you've done a lot of Varsity coverage - or perhaps you feel that your Twittering is even better than The Dolphin Pub's<https://twitter.com/The_Dolphin_Pub> on a particularly Smirnoff Ice-fuelled night, or you feel like you should GET IN THE SEA!<https://twitter.com/getinthesea> then be sure to enter these categories. You MUST be a MEMBER to enter the Student Radio Awards. Finally, there's been a lot of questions about whether previous entries will be available to listen to. The answer is - sort of. We've been able to restore last year's entries (hurrah!) after the Lost SRA Data Crisis of 2015, and these will be going up on the website throughout today (as in Friday - sorry, I'm still a bit nocturnal), so keep revisiting studentradio.org.uk<http://studentradio.org.uk> and we'll put them up there. I encourage you ALL to enter - because last year we had a record number of stations entering the awards - and we had the MOST diverse set of winners we've EVER had. Important and urgent! Student Radio Association awards - submission deadline 17th July

Dear IC Radio members Just 8 days if you want to submit something to the Student Radio Association (SRA) Awards. We have done really well in the past, and encourage anyone and everyone to think about applying. Yes the notice is very short, but we hope some of you will manage, and every entry gets feedback from professional radio people. * Very prestigious, with 6 nominees for each category; awards at the O2. Hi, just a brief interruption to your studies, the full committee for next year is as follows: Rob Garside is elected Head of Programming Thanos Vlontzos is elected Head of Music Sebastian Gonzato is elected Deputy Head of Music Robert Schussler is elected Technical manager Luke Granger-Brown is elected IT manager Adam Gellatly is elected Social Secretary and Head of Promotions Arran Hobson-Sayers is elected Head of Training Eamonn Postlethwaite is elected Treasurer Vanya Zheludev was elected Disco Manager Josh Sucher is elected Secretary Neil Stoker is elected Deputy Station Manager Cem Hurrell is elected Station Manager A small note on Station Manager: Cem is acting as a puppet station manager since officially Conall cannot hold the position as he will only be an associate member of the union next year. However everyone who voted by email voted for Conall or RON and everyone present at the AGM was made aware of the situation that a vote for Cem was a vote for Conall. Manifestos! Vote before May 5th or at our EGM

We have candidates! :D Here are the manifestos that have been submitted. Please send votes for ep1212(a)ic.ac.uk by midday on May 5th for those who can't attend the EGM. THE EGM IS AT 5PM IN THE BASEMENT. Do come if you can though, free food and a brief reprieve from examination hell. Head of Music (alphabetical by first name): Hasaan, I've been doing radio for a few years now. Cliche'd to say "blah blah blah yeah I want to give back to the society" and all that, but I guess it's a cliche for a reason. Been producing and DJ'ing for a few years now so am fairly involved with music, mainly dance music but have an appreciation for pretty much everything. I have a fairly large music collection from over the years so I'm good with arranging music and sorting out playlists and so on which would be useful for the sustain. I've DJ'd commercial stuff so I wouldn't be (entirely) self indulgent with what gets played on sustain if i was in charge of it. Long live the croc Station Manager Hi my name is Conall and I want to be your next station manager! I have been involved with radio at several levels at my time at Imperial, from setting up my own show, guesting on others and finally as treasurer this year. Being treasurer I have worked closely with the current station manger Eamonn, and crucially for being station manager I have an intimate knowledge of the financial workings of the club as well as the budget for next year. I love radio, during freshers fair in first year I excitedly sought it out and it has never disappointed. In no other society is individuality as highly prized, and with the social secs this year introducing the radio awards there is so much scope for the society to expand and form more of a community than has been present in past years. This year is to be an important one in radio’s history as it is the first in which the studio will be ready from day one of the new year, as such it is important to set up schedules and protocols to fully incorporate new members into the club as smoothly as possibly. Hi crocs, The EGM will be on the 5th of May at 6pm in the basement for no more than 30 minutes. For those of you who really can't make it, because of an exam the following day etc, I'll operate an email voting system. Otherwise please do come! I will buy pizza again! We need an EGM because we didn't fill three positions: - Station Manager - Head of Music - Head of Promotions We've had no nominations yet for Station Manager and it's pretty important believe it or not. I will answer any and all questions about the role, and I'll be around next year along with the rest of the awesome committee who were elected at the AGM, so please don't worry! Hi, Minutes from the AGM. We promise not to send you many more emails now it's Easter! have a good one. We have triggered an Extra Ordinary Meeting as no one stood for station manager. We will also be electing the head of music and head of promotion as there were either no candidates for the role for promotions and it was felt the head of music position was so important they shouldn't be elected in their absence. This will be held in early May. Again - if someone wants to discuss the role of station manager I'm happy to talk to them, I'm sure Eamonn would too. Thanks, George 1) Eamon gave a review of the year including a thanks for help with the redevelopment 2) No one stood for Station manager – triggering an EGM next term 3) Rob Garside is elected Head of Programming unanimously 4) The Head of Music candidate is absent.
