He is hired by clients to take apart other companies technologies and find out how they work. He is hired to do a special job, against the advice of some of his associates. When the job is completed, all memory of what he has been working on is erased from his mind. That's when his problem really start to begin. He is hunted for something he has no recollection of doing and has only a little time to work it out. He has sent himself 19 seemingly unconnected objects, before his memory was wiped, to allow him to put the puzzle together and discover just what has gone on and what he has done. Hi guys, We have two huge blockbusters for you next week: The Matrix: Revolutions: Tuesday 18:00, Thursday 20:45 Not sure this really needs a description but here it is anyway The machine army continues to drill toward Zion. Within hours, they will overrun the population of the Zionites and lay extinction to human kind. Meanwhile, Neo is held captive by the Merovingian at a train station. Trinity & Morpheus set out on a journey to release him from a mysterious train operator. Also, Smith resumes his quest to kill "Mr. Anderson" as he reveals his identity into the real world and resumes to replicate his program inside the system of The Matrix, causing it to decay. All hope is placed in the freed Neo, who must travel to the city of the machines in the Logos ship with Trinity and bargain to save each kingdom from destruction by finishing Smith once and for all. But even with his new powers over the sentinels, will he be able to fight them off? Master and Commander: The Far side of the World: Tuesday: 20:45, Thursday: 18:00 During the Napoleonic Wars, a British frigate, HMS Surprise, and a much larger French warship, the Acheron, with greater fire power, stalk each other off of the coast of South America. Russell Crowe brings great intensity to the role of Captain Jack Aubrey. Lucky Jack, as he is referred to by his crew, is well regarded by his men, who trust him implicitly, even after the first devastating battle and an apparent personal vendetta against the French captain. While the naval battle sequences are quite fantastic, the film is successful because director Weir chose to build the story to get to know the men who are locked aboard the tight quarters of a small ship and how they interact everyday. The officers and the mates are well-known by the time the final battle comes. Paul Bettany offers a strong performance as the surgeon and naturalist who balances the violence of his chosen life with the quiet demeanor of the scientist. He is the captain's friend and confidant, the two frequently playing violin and cello duets together. The horrors of the injuries from the war are frequently implied, but vividly depicted in the reactions of the characters. Tickets as all ways cost £3 for one film and £5 for both. Hi Guys, Hope you all had a good Christmas we have two great films for you this week, Love Actually and Secondhand Lions Love Actually: 18:00 Tue 13/1/04, 20:30 Thu 15/1/04 Set almost entirely in London during five frantic weeks before Christmas follows a web-like pattern of inter-related, loosely related and unrelated stories of a dozen or more various individuals with their love lives, or lack of them. The central character is the new bachelor prime minister David (Hugh Grant) who cannot express his growing feelings he feels for his new personal assistant Natalie (Martine McCutcheon). The prime minister's older sister Karen (Emma Thompson) slowly grows aware about her husband Harry's (Alan Rickman) flirtation with an office worker named Mia (Heike Makatsch). Karen's friend Daniel (Liam Neeson) is a recently widowed writer whose 11-year-old son asks for love advice to a girl he has a crush on. Meanwhile, Jamie (Colin Firth) is another writer who leaves his girlfriend after catching her cheating on him and travels to France to write a novel where he pursues a possible romance with his non-English speaking Portuguese maid Aurelia (Lucia Moniz). Also, Harry's American secretary Sarah (Laura Linney) questions a romance she pursues with the office hunk Karl (Rodrigo Santoro), but her personal family problems get in the way. Other secondary characters involve a photographer who pursues his best friend's new wife Juliet (Keira Knightley); a pair of movie stand-ins, named John and Judy, who grow closer after their simulated love scenes; a libious chum who wants to travel to Wisconsin, USA to score with women; and a burned-out former rock star named Billy Mack (Bill Nighy) who is the main connection between all stories involved. Secondhand Lions: 20:50 Tue 13/1/04, 18:00 Thu 15/1/04 "Secondhand Lions" follows the comedic adventures of an introverted boy (Osment) left on the doorstep of a pair of reluctant, eccentric great-uncles (Caine and Duvall), whose exotic remembrances stir the boy's spirit and re-ignite the men's lives. Hi, The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived, yes it is the famous iCU Cinema All Nighter! We have a great lineup of films for you to come and see. The All Nighter is on Tuesday the 16th of December and the line up is a follows: Finding Nemo: 18:00 A tale which follows the comedic and eventful journeys of two fish, the fretful Marlin and his young son Nemo, who are separated from each another in the Great Barrier Reef when Nemo is unexpectedly taken from his home, and thrust into a fish tank in a dentist's office overlooking Sydney Harbor. Buoyed by the companionship of a friendly but forgetful fish named Dory, the overly cautious Marlin embarks on in a dangerous trek and finds himself the unlikely hero of an epic journey to rescue his son. Meanwhile the young Nemo hatches a few daring plans of his own to return home safely. Kill Bill: Volume 1: 20:10 The Bride (Uma Thurman) was once a top member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. And then, one day, she decided to leave the business, assume a new identity, and get married. But it was on the day of her marriage that her old "friends," O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), Elle Driver (Darryl Hannah), Budd (Michael Madsen), and Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox), not to mention her boss, Bill (David Carradine), showed up out of the blue. They assassinate the entire ceremony and Bill shoots the Bride in the head, putting her in a coma. Kraven (Shane Brolly) is the leader of the vampire house after Viktor (Bill Nighy) dies and wants Selene by his side, but she is a wild cat to break. Hi guys, We have yet another week of great films to tempt you next week: *Once Upon a Time in Mexico* Tuesday 9/12/03 18:00 Thursday 11/12/03 20:15 Based on the story of a drug lord Barrilo. He pretends to overthrow the president of Mexico. A corrupt CIA agent, demands retribution from his worst enemy to carry out the drug lord's uprising. Mariachi is recruited by Sands to take out Gen. Marquez (has a huge score to settle with the Mariachi), who has major beef with Mariachi to begin with. He sends Cucuy (the muscle for Sands) to shadow and keep tabs on the Mariachi. Marquez is working with Barrillo, and is about to assassinate El Presidente and assume power. Sands also convinces Jorge Ramirez (retired-FBI, has old scores to settle with Barrillo) to come out of retirement and take out Barrillo and Dr. Guevera (personal Dr. to Barrillo, killed Jorge's partner a long time ago), who brutally tortured and killed Ramirez' FBI partner. *In America* Tuesday 7/12/03 20:15 Thursday 11/12/03 18:00 Intimately told by their 11-year-old daughter Christy (Sarah Bolger), a child wise beyond her years, is a coming of age story about an Irish couple (Samantha Morton, Paddy Considine) trying to find their way in America. To Christy and her younger sister Ariel (played by real life sister Emma Bolger), America is a place of magic where anything is possible. To their parents, it represents a place to begin anew. Carried by the girls' youthful hope and faith, the family finds the heart to live and love again. Together they find home. In America is directed by Jim Sheridan who co-wrote the original screenplay with his filmmaker daughters Naomi and Kirsten Sheridan. As ever these films are at the bargain price of £3 for one or £5 for both! Of course we also have the famous All Nighter the week after this which has a truly excellent lineup, which we believe is the best yet! I have had lots of emails requesting more info on the All Nighter. Tickets cost £3 for one film, £5 for two, £7 for three or £10 for four to six films. Tickets are not available in advance but are available on the door about 15 mins before each film. Hi Guys, We have a couple of great films for you next week, unfortunately Felix printed our article a week early so some people may have been confused by that but the films advertised are on next week and are: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl : Tue 25th Nov : 18:00; Thu 27th Nov: 20:30 Will Turner(Orlando Bloom) and his unlikely ally Jack Sparrow(Johnny Depp) must battle the worlds most fearsome pirates lead by Captain Barbossa(Geoffrey Rush) in order to rescue Will's Love Elizabeth(Keira Knightly), and to recover Jacks treasure. This is a great film and is not to be missed! Spirited Away: Tue 25th Nov : 20:45; Thu 27th Nov: 18:00 This Magical Film by <http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0594503/> Hayao Miyazaki. A ten-year old girl Chihiro and her parents take a shortcut along a dusty road. They find an open air restaurant with no workers or customers. Her parents don't hesitate sitting down and digging in. Chihiro However senses that something is not quite right and refuses. Come nightfall her parents are turned into pigs and the area turns into a magical world where the spirits reside. This is a truly great film praised by the critics and movie goers alike. We are getting the Japanese version with English subtitles which most people agree is the best. Also of news is the All-Nighter which is on the last Tuesday of term (16th December) and will Include Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Finding Nemo with many more great films besides.
