SERCA-LVAD FREEZER
The purpose of this mailing list it to facilitate rapid circulation of automated temperature alerts from the SERCA-LVAD freezer in the Heart Science Centre at Harefield Hospital. There is an automated system for monitoring the temperature of the freezer, and this system emails this distribution list when the temperature drops below a pre-specified level. In this situation, it is essential that the samples are protected by correction of the fault or rapid transfer to another freezer facility if necessary.
To access the freezer: enter the HSC by the main entrance, and use the double doors immediately to your right. The freezer is at the end of this corridor, second from the end on the left. There is a label on the door identifying it as freezer TE005, and there is a sign displaying SERCA-LVAD information. The temperature display is near the floor. If you cannot gain access to the building or the ground floor corridor, use the telephone by the main entrance to call hospital security (dial 0 for switch, ask for security).
