Dear Professor Sassi, I am writing to you on behalf of the Ukrainian Institute for Men's Health, Social Development, and Public Health Innovation (menZDRAV Foundation), a non-governmental organization that has been at the forefront of public health initiatives in Ukraine since 2013. My name is Dzmitry Filippau, and I am the founder of the organisation. I am reaching out to express interest in a potential collaboration regarding the upcoming Horizon Europe project: “Behavioural interventions as primary prevention for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) among young people”. My organisation possesses over a decade of extensive experience working with adolescents and youth. Our portfolio spans the dual challenges of contemporary public health: (1) Non-Communicable Diseases - we specialize in mental health support, harm reduction strategies related to non-medical drug use and gambling among young populations, and (2) Infectious Diseases - we have a proven track record in addressing HIV, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis through targeted interventions. Our approach is holistic, moving beyond theory into high-impact implementation. We manage the entire lifecycle of public health initiatives - from conducting baseline socio-behavioral research to direct service delivery and high-level policy advocacy. Central to our success is our robust network of trained peer consultants and peer mentors, who ensure that our interventions are grounded in the lived realities of the youth we serve. We are one of the leading non-governmental organizations in Ukraine, and our organizational capacity includes: - Program Management: Proven expertise in managing complex sub-granting programs for local NGOs. - Governmental Synergy: We maintain close working relationships with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, as well as local and regional health departments, and public, private, and university clinics. - Academic Collaboration: We actively partner with leading academic institutions such as Bohomolets National Medical University and Uzhhorod National University, bridging the gap between academic research and field application. - International Cooperation: We have successfully collaborated with various international institutes and global donors, ensuring our financial and reporting standards meet the highest international requirements. Given Imperial College London’s leading role in coordinating and managing Horizon projects, I would be interested to explore how our organization might contribute to your current work on the Horizon proposal, as well as to the subsequent implementation phase. Would you be open to considering such a collaboration? Thank you for your time and for the vital work you do. Warmly regards, Dzmitry Dzmitry Filippau, PhD CEO, menZDRAV Foundation We value life. We value health. T: +38 099 261 77 31
