To provide some context for the costs below, here is a description of the planned activities: We will be conducting training for new medical students. Our schedule for each trip is as follows: we arrive on Friday, carry out training sessions on Saturday and Sunday, and conduct teaching at a school so that the students can observe how procedures are performed in practice. We then depart on Tuesday. These activities will take place in Norway, Spain, and Slovenia. Below is an estimate of the additional costs associated with these activities beyond personnel expenses: 1. Travel and Accommodation • Number of people: 3 • Destinations: Norway, Spain, and Slovenia • Travel period per trip: Friday to Tuesday • Hotel cost per person per night: 1,500–2,000 SEK (~125–167 EUR) • Flight cost per person per trip: 3,500–5,000 SEK (~292–417 EUR) • Estimated total cost per person for all three trips: ~39,000 SEK (~3,250 EUR) • Estimated total cost for all three participants: ~117,000 SEK (~9,750 EUR) 2. Conference / Training Days • Number of days for local venue: 2 per country (Saturday and Sunday) • Estimated cost per day: approx. 10,000 SEK (~833 EUR) • Estimated total cost for all three countries: 60,000 SEK (~5,000 EUR) Summary of estimated costs: • Travel and accommodation for 3 participants: ~9,750 EUR • Conference / training venues: ~5,000 EUR • Total estimated additional costs: ~14,750 EUR If additional project meetings are desired beyond these activities, we would be happy to participate. Dear Robert, The set of countries delivering interventions in the project is still somewhat in flux. Since my previous message to you, Spain has opted for the intervention for the “older” age group, and on the other hand two countries have joined the intervention for the younger age group, in which CHOICE will be participating. These are North Macedonia and Ukraine. There may be challenges involved in delivering the training in Ukraine, so we will need to assess how best this could be done. In summary, I currently foresee 4 countries for your involvement. Poland is currently pending and will make a decision early next week. I will let you know if they need to be added. Your budget will be adjusted accordingly, of course. But if you have any concerns about capacity, please, do let me know.
