Dear All, We need to respond to the concern expressed by Ukraine regarding the acronym for the project (Z being used by Russia as a symbol for their army in the Ukraine war). It would be good to at least try to mitigate their concern, although we do not have to at this late stage, of course. I have thought of a few options: 1. Move the Z to the end, as in: Health-Z. This would not change much, but it would make the Z less prominent. 2. Replace the Z with 'Zoomer' which is wat those in Gen Z are also called, as in: Zoomer-HEALTH 3. Leave the acronym as it is, or change to option 1 above, and add an explanatory note somewhere, although it may be risky to make a statement that has political implications in a grant application. Please, let me know what you think. Franco
Hi Franco, Where was this concern expressed? I haven't seen an email with this mentioned. It is a valid concern though. My vote would be option 2. CAUTION: This message came from outside Imperial. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognise the sender and were expecting this email. Me too. The younger people involved might even be “Generation Alpha.” Not to make things more complicated, maybe we could play with the A–Z idea instead, for example “A–Z Health”? I’m not sure it really helps, though, given the sensitivity of the topic.
