The priority at the moment is to finalise the text, we'll worry about formatting next week, but I thought I would write down a couple of thoughts to avoid forgetting them: 1. We need to make sure the text is easily readable and nicely formatted. One thing that I find very annoying when I review proposal is to see pages crammed with text, with poor or inconsistent formatting. 2. I have been trying to separate paragraphs in section 1, by adding 6 pt of "before" spacing in the paragraph settings. Of course, this takes up more space, but in my view it is worthwhile because it makes the text clearer and more readable. If you have better ideas, please, let me know. 3. Can someone remind us about the formatting rules we have to abide by? Are we obliged to use Times New Roman? Is 12 the minimum font size? The margins, I assume, are already set at the minimum allowed in the document we are using. 4. Do we want to justify the text at the right end? 5. Shall we use a specific format for headings (some are required, but we have lots of sub-headings which help signpost contents and guide the reader, which I think are important. Any thoughts on these points would be helpful, but not terribly urgent at the moment.
