Hello Krystle
Thank you for your email.
I’m sorry I don’t have a complete answer for you at the moment. The proposal is still in its very early draft and input from partners has yet to be defined, particularly because the team is still working out what interventions are suitable and who might be able to run these. I think the aim is to circulate a draft proposal before the Consortium’s next meeting on 10 March, although I appreciate that may be too late for your budget deadlines.
Is this sufficient on the aim of the project? Please note – this is very much a draft and the wording is likely to change as the proposal develops.
“Z-HEALTH — Health in the Digital Generation — is a multi-country Research and Innovation Action that will evaluate, at scale and across diverse European contexts, the effectiveness of evidence-based behavioural interventions for preventing and reducing the burden of obesity, mental health diseases, and addictions in young people aged 12 to 25. It does so by targeting the shared modifiable causal pathway — the digital habit-formation process — through a pre-specified architecture of four complementary intervention families.
Interventions enter at different points in this causal chain, constituting four complementary families: (G1) Exposure shaping — preventing habit formation by reducing harmful digital cues (defaults, marketing restrictions); (G2) Friction and interruption — slowing automatic repetition through speed bumps (quiet hours, age gates, cool-off periods); (G3) Agency scaffolding — rebuilding routines via self-regulation supports and feedback (wearables, goal-setting, commitment devices); (G4) Identity and norm stabilisation — locking in gains through peer norms, co-created identities and autonomy-framed inoculation. No single family is sufficient. Z-HEALTH will be the first project to implement all four families simultaneously within the same theoretical framework, across multiple countries and NCD domains.”
I’m copying in my colleagues in case they can provide further detail.
Sorry not to be of more help here.
With best wishes
Heather

Hello Heather,
I'm Marie Bragg's Program Manager at NYU School of Medicine. She asked that I reach out to you because our internal sponsored research/grants team needs us to submit a budget justification and scope of work this week for her involvement on ICL's "Z-health: health in the digital generation" proposal.
Could you please provide the following information that we need fo these documents:
We look forward to working with you and appreciate your assistance!
Best,
Krystle

Dear all,
I’m Loredana Marmora, from ISINNOVA, supporting ICL in the management of the bid (and hopefully of the project ;)
Nice to meet you (Marie we already met in Rome at the final conference of STOP).
Giulia, together with Heather, is indeed the right person in case you need support for the administrative aspects.
Just let me clarify few general points:
Hope this can help to clarify some general aspects.
We’re happy to help if you need anything else.
Best regards,
Loredana

Oggetto: RE: EU Behavioural interventions proposal: admin request
Hello Jina
Thank you for getting in touch.
We are preparing this bid in conjunction with Isinnova. I am copying in my colleagues, Giovanna and Giulia, to see if they are able to advise you on the documentation that will be needed from New York University.
In the meantime, the provisional working title for the proposal is: Z-health: health in the digital generation
The proposal is still in the early stages and I don’t think I’ve seen any estimates of the project length but Giovanna may have a better idea.
The most pressing details we need at the moment are:
- the Participant Identification Code (PIC). I did find a number of 999437561 but if you could confirm whether this is correct that would be great.
- The average monthly rate – this is based on a weighted mix of staff who are likely to be involved in the project.
With many thanks
Heather

Good afternoon Heather,
Thank you, Krystle, for the introduction.
Heather, I am currently preparing the subcontract package for Dr. Marie Bragg and wanted to inquire about the documents your institution will require from NYU Grossman in order to move forward. Please let us know which materials are needed so we can begin compiling them.
Additionally, would you be able to provide the project title and the anticipated project dates?
Thank you in advance.
Best,
Jina James

Good afternoon Heather,
I'm looping in Jina James, who has been assigned as our internal grants manager for this proposal and will be the contact for our subcontract - jina.james@nyulangone.org.
@Jina, we can discuss in more detail when we meet later this week, but could you please provide Heather with the following information by Feb 20th:
- Your institutional Participant Identification Code (PIC). You can search for your institution's PIC here (Jina - I tried searching but was unable to find the SOM in the database)
- Your average monthly rate to inform the budget. If you are unfamiliar with this term, it should be estimated on the basis of the weighted mix of staff at your institution that are expected to work on the project, excluding indirect costs.
Thanks!
Krystle
