Thank you very much for your prompt clarification. I suspected this might be the rationale. We need to consider the following elements:
- The approach we have agreed to take in delivering the health and digital literacy component of the intervention (the only one that will be delivered through schools in the intervention
for the 18/19-25 age group) is based on the use of qualified medical students (from the same country) to deliver the health literacy component. The digital literacy component is smaller and will be delivered by digital media experts contracted by the public
health institute or by schools in each country. However, the remuneration of medical students will be modest (based on a model that has been successfully applied in other countries), and we do not expect the remuneration of digital media experts to be very
high either.
- We have previously allocated a budget of 29,000 Euros to PZH to cover the following three costs: (a) remuneration of medical students delivering health literacy training; (b) remuneration
of digital media experts delivering digital literacy training; and (c) wearable self-monitoring devices. This amount of funding is standardised across all institutions that will lead interventions, and adjusted for differences in purchasing power between countries.
We do realise that this amount is tight, and we will try to increase it for everyone if the overall budget allows, but it will not reach the level you have proposed in your estimates.
- Reviewers may question why regular teachers should be paid out of project funds, because in principle they receive a salary for their job. A key aspect of the implementation of interventions
in this project is their sustainability beyond the duration of the project. If we signal that significant additional resources would be required to run the interventions, this will clearly suggest that those interventions are not sustainable, so we need to
avoid this perception.
Please, let me know if you have any comments on the above. We will increase the budget for “Other costs” as much as possible, from the current 29,000 Euros. We will get back to you with more information when we have been able to assess
to what extent we can realistically increase it, given that it will have to be increased for all partners implementing interventions.

As planned, we intend to carry out interventions in schools—we anticipate 10 sessions organized at each school, with the school providing a teacher to lead the intervention and all necessary logistical
support (classroom, etc.). We believe that, from a formal and organizational standpoint, it would be best to allocate funds to the schools rather than to individual teachers.

On the budget, the proposal you have made is a bit above what we had envisaged. One item accounts for most of the discrepancy. This is what you have identified as “salary for schools”. Would you mind explaining what exactly this includes,
so that we can assess whether these costs may be already covered in other ways? We have not seen this item in other budgets received from countries implementing interventions.

As promised, I am circulating the current version of the A-Z-HEALTH proposal (Part B) for your review and final contributions. In order of priority, I would like to ask you to do the following:
- For All. Open the document and search for your name (first name) in the comments placed alongside the text of the proposal. We have asked specific questions and requested contributions
in those comments and I would be grateful if you could answer any questions in the comments and provide the contributions requested by adding them directly into the text
in track changes mode.
- For WP leaders. Please, ensure that your WP table in Section 3 reflects all the comments that may have been made by partners involved in tasks. Please, note that deliverables,
milestones and risks are listed in separate tables at the end, as required by the latest EC template.
- For All. Review the rest of the document and make any comments/suggestions/edits that you think may improve the proposal. Please, feel free to be critical if you see anything
you do not like. It’s better to receive criticism by partners than by reviewers when the proposal is evaluated.
- For All. At the moment, the proposal is well over the page limit. So, please, be parsimonious when suggesting the inclusion of additional text. Any suggestions you may have
about things that you think could be cut would also be most welcome.
As you know, the proposal is due on Thursday, so I have to ask you to make the above changes by tomorrow (Tuesday) evening, and in any case no later than Wednesday morning at 10am CET at the very latest.

I would like to thank all those who have been working hard on various aspects of the proposal since our last Consortium meeting. We have made substantial progress, and we are now seeing light at the end of the tunnel. First of all, I would
like to inform you that we have changed the title and acronym of the project, which are now as follows:
A-Z-HEALTH: Health in the digital generations, from Alpha to Zoomer
So, don’t be surprised if you see the slightly changed acronym. It’s the same project!
We have virtually completed our line up of partners, with more countries implementing interventions than we had originally envisaged (5 for the 12-18 intervention; 4 for the 19-25 intervention). On the academic research side, the Amsterdam
University Medical Centre has joined the proposal to lead WP3.
The proposal is always accessible in Box (version that includes 3103 in the file name). It is not yet complete or polished, but we are getting there. We have been having some issues with the Box system, particularly with simultaneous editing,
therefore we have decided that we will circulate a version of the proposal on Monday morning as an email attachment to all of you, so that you can work offline. We will ask you to check for places where your name is mentioned in the comments, and to provide
the information requested, in addition to making any edits that you think would be useful.
In the meantime, I am attaching a document that includes preliminary budget allocations. The budgeting process is complex, as you know, and it is still under way, but we would like you to flag any issues that you may spot in the attached,
for the time being. Please, note that the attached document does not contain subcontracting costs.
