Dear All, It is high time that I sent an email outlining the new procedure for Mathematica. All members of physics are now entitled to download and use a full version of Mathematica so please distribute this information as widely as possible. The procedure for obtaining a license and a legal copy of the software is slightly different for students and staff. However the instructions are pretty clear and should be followed from the websites below. Student: https://user.wolfram.com/portal/requestAK/0442cd45033874137828d35b72d30e67b2... Staff: https://user.wolfram.com/portal/requestAK/7bd02d9cadc529ab688cbf0e0024133025... You will have to create an account with which to login (this takes less than a minute). You will then be issued with a temporary license key so that you can download and run the software. This will also generate full license request. You will also be asked to contact one of the three license managers at Imperial - two of whom are on this list. Once confirmed your temporary key will be extended until 31st of May 2013. Best, david
Harry, We really do need some departmental web pages on which to put information like this. I know that we agreed to do this but I let the case "go cold". WWhat is the best way for me to restart this process i.e. who should I talk to? Best, david On 31/07/12 12:04, David Colling wrote:

Hi David, a clarification on a point I found confusing, as I suspect I have passed my confusion on to you. The "staff" link is for College-owned machines, whether the registration is being done by a staff member or student. The student link is only for students' personally owned machines. Staff who wish to install the machine on their personally-owned home machine should use the form at: http://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/homeuse/ with the license number L4775-6946. So to summarise, with more helpful names: College-owned machines: https://user.wolfram.com/portal/requestAK/7bd02d9cadc529ab688cbf0e0024133025... Student-owned machines: https://user.wolfram.com/portal/requestAK/0442cd45033874137828d35b72d30e67b2... Staff-owned machines (home use only): http://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/homeuse/ with the license number L4775-6946. Hope that makes sense, Jony -- Centre for Cold Matter, The Blackett Laboratory, Imperial College London, London SW7 2BW T: +44 (0)207 5947741 http://www.imperial.ac.uk/people/jony.hudson http://www.imperial.ac.uk/ccm/research/edm http://j-star.org/ -- On 31 Jul 2012, at 12:04, David Colling <d.colling@imperial.ac.uk> wrote:
