Fwd: HPC Summer School: Research Software Engineering session - 1-3pm, Thursday 1st October, Huxley 308
Dear All, My apologies for the last minute nature of this notice. As you can see I only received it this afternoon. I think that this is an important topic and is being reali8sed as such by (at least parts of) RCUK. I know that EPSRC recently put out a call and I am trying to raise this within STFC. Please forward to anybody in your groups who you think might be interested. As part of the event, on Thursday from 1-3pm in the Huxley Building, Lecture Theatre 308, there will be a session on Research Software Engineering. The session will consist of a set of short "lightning talks" followed by a panel discussion. The aim of the session is to raise awareness of Research Software Engineering within Imperial and to look at the benefits of Research Software Engineers and the challenges that they face from both the perspectives of computational scientists and research group leaders and from the perspective of RSEs themselves. I hope you'll be able to attend the session and attach the session agenda. If you've not already registered for the HPC Summer School, you can do so here: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/computational-methods/news-and-events/hpc-registra... Further information on the event is available here: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/computational-methods/news-and-events/ Best regards, Jeremy -- Jeremy Cohen Department of Computing
