Hi All, I have booked our CMS Centre/small meeting room for tomorrow B544 (most people join over teams these days and this can hold 10-15 people at a push). The meeting time is 12:00->13:00. I have had no extra agenda items so tomorrow's meeting should be short (famous last words). Although if I forget please can somebody remind me to record the meeting so that Beth can write some minutes. So the agenda is: - Actions - Update from RCS - Andy - Update from rest of ICT - Okan - Update on physics RSE - Liz? - Teaching machines (possibly done offline later as Michael cannot make this time). - AoB Best, david
Hi All, I forgot to say that a teams link will be circulated later this morning. As most of you know, I don't have an outlook account and so I am reliant on my collogues in particles to create this meeting in the correct teams channel. Best, david On 15/05/2025 18:01, David Colling wrote:

Hi David (et al.), A quick apology again for not being able to join today's meeting until late on. I had a couple of AOB questions but thought it better to circulate to the list now. 1. Do we have any progress on the list of software licences (if any) that the Department is still paying for please? 2. Is there any updated guidance from ICT on when older versions of Linux OS versions (e.g. RHEL7) need to be retired for security compliance purposes? Originally I had a deadline of end of July 2025.. Is there any definitive plan from ICT to implement blocking of devices that are non-compliant, etc.? 3. Is there any update on the MFA implementation for SSH servers? (I think this is work-in-progress still?) 4. Trivial point perhaps, but we continue to register computing systems with the old research group-based domains (e.g. .sp.ph.ic.ac.uk, cmth.ph.ic.ac.uk, tp.ph.ic.ac.uk, pp.ph.ic.ac.uk, etc.) which are not aligned to the Community structure. Is there any driver to migrate away from the old domains, or is the Department (and ICT) happy to maintain this structure? Not sure I see any benefit here, just disruption, but wanted to ask the question at least.
