There’s a bug in OS X Mavericks which is preventing it from connecting easily to wireless networks using Cisco hardware (which is what we use at Imperial)

If you upgrade, you are likely to find that you cannot connect to our wireless network. You can get round this:

1.       Click the Wifi icon on the menu bar, and select 'Join Other Network'

2.       In the 'Find and Join a Wi-Fi network' window type in Imperial-WPA and in the security drop down select WPA2 Enterprise

3.       Type in the your Imperial College username and password in the relevant fields and click 'Join'

It will almost certainly lose the connection whenever the machine goes to sleep or is rebooted so you will have to go through the process each time you use the machine.

We (and many others!) have logged a fault with Apple – I’m hoping that they will fix it fairly quickly – but if you’ve not upgraded then I’d suggest waiting a little while for the fix.
