Life is much, much easier for all concerned when users buy from HP or Apple - stuff comes with a 3 year warranty and if anything goes wrong (and stuff does go wrong!) then it's easy to get it fixed.
Many people think that HP are expensive; that's because they look at retail prices instead of going to our portal site - http://www.imperial.ac.uk/spectrum/ict/hp/hp.asp - which has much better pricing (and better quality equipment)

Something that has been on my (low priority) list of things to do for about a year is the restructuring of Physics Departmental Computing pages. Caroline Jackson has offered to do the work and she is waiting on me (and has been for the best part of a year). So now I am trying to think of useful content. so far I have:
- A list of group representatives - minutes of our meetings - Licensing information for things for which we have site/faculty licenses (often just a statement and link to the ICT shop) - Links to ICT general support pages.
What else would be useful?
