Hi Andy, This is useful to know. To the best of my knowledge we (SPAT) were not contacted. Would you be able to provide the information that was provided in that contact please? We use the Intel compilers on our Linux servers (mostly running OEL 7, CentOS 7, and now RHEL 9). We're still running Intel compilers from 2016 and 2019 licensed using Flexlm, and it would be great to (a) have an updated version to install on our main group server, sulis.sp.ph.ic.ac.uk, and (b) to know what the commitment to maintaining these licences is. David - I hope I'm not muddying the issue here - but if RCS are now the PoC for the licences, perhaps we don't need a replacement iclic7.cc server as long as this isn't a short-term investment from the RCS (i.e. licences vanish in a year or two). David Just to note for those that don't know, RCS picked up the license costs for Intel Compilers support last year to centralise costs. Technically Intel Compilers are now free and you only pay for support for access to older versions. Anyone who was listed as Intel compiler user and had previously bought them we contacted last year based on a list given to us by Intel. However, anyone not on that list or looking to buy them afresh should be aware of this. Hi David, (CC: Dept. Computing) SPAT use the Intel Fortran compiler still. There are some code which don't readily compile with the GNU versions, and this is something we still use for radiative transfer codes written and provided by colleagues in the USA. Hi All, How many groups still use the Intel compilers? Many years these ago these were very important but I don't know if anybody is still relying on it?
