*Subject:* Box Data Migration
Good evening all,
I just wanted to drop you all a note to let you know the current
activity regarding the data migration activity with the Box service. As
communicated back in February, we are still working to reduce the
overall data storage footprint on the Box service in order to avoid a
significant increase renewal costs (circa £1.5m). We are looking to
reduce the storage by around 600Tb by the end of July.
Our approach will be to contact the users with the highest storage
levels on the service and we will work with them to move the data to the
Research data store, providing as much support as possible in the actual
move across and administratively.
I’ve attached the paper circulated back in March for context (the totals
have already started to come down) but if you have any more questions
specifically, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Many thanks,
Will.
