Dear All,
As we have discussed, computing is being reviewed as part of the overall
course review. This is being done by a smaller group of people. This
group is currently: Robert Kingham, Carlo Contaldi, Dave Clements, Jony
Hudson and me. We will then report on this to the Departmental Computing
Committee, in case there is something we have missed, before I take it
to the main review. I am specifically looking for a "non-intensive"
computer user to be part of this review - i.e. somebody who uses
computers in a minimal way for a physicist but is still vaguely sensible
when it comes to computing. This is because I think that Angus has a
fear that we will be the equivalent of asking a bunch of "petrol heads"
what should be taught car design. So if there is such a person in your
group who you think would be willing to be part of this group then
please get in touch. i am hoping that we can draft our recommendations
over the summer.
Also if anybody has strong views about this then whole process then let
me know.
Best,
david
