Hi, It looks as though tomorrow's meeting will be rather short, which is not a bad thing given the marking piled on my desk. So the meeting will start at 12:30 in Blackett 532 The agenda is: - Huxley machine room status and plans - Actions arising - Disaster recover plans - news and round up from teaching - news and round up from groups - AOB - Close I have apologies from John Conway and Carlo Contaldi (if either wants to send a deputy then feel free) We should be through less than an hour (although if more time is needed we should take it). Departmental computing meeting

Dear All,. This is just a reminder that the next departmental computing meeting will be on Wednesday the 15th. As usual this will be at lunch time to try to cause as little disruption as possible. So the meeting will start at 12:30 and will be in the usual room of 532 Blackett. Please feel free to bring sandwiches etc. The first item on the agenda will be the machine room in Huxley and Kenny Weir will be joining for that discussion so please be prompt (especially if you have any equipment in the Huxley machine room). This will come even before the the actions so that Kenny can leave afterwards. The only items on the agenda at the moment are the Huxley Machine Room, Disaster Recovery, News from ICT and the usual round up. I cannot even think of anything we need to discuss on the subject of licensing this time. So please feel free to suggest items. All the best, david

Hosting equipment in the Huxley machine room

Dear All, I know that this was discussed at the last departmental computing meeting but things seem to have moved on. So I need a list of who hosts machines in the machine room in Huxley and what arrangements they would like if we are turfed out to make room for a big laser. In particular is there anybody who would be unhappy simply to move their machines over to Mech Eng and host them in ICT's machine rooms? If so why? I am not completely sure how quickly I need this information but the email from Jo implied sooner rather than later ... Best, david

Next meeting

Dear All, My apologies for taking a while to complete this process. The doodle poll actually has tomorrow as the date that most people can make, but that is rather too short notice now (apologies). So the nest best days are Wednesday the 15 or Friday the 17th. There are key people who cannot make each of them so I undecided. My feeling is that Wednesday is probably best as although Steve Rochford will not be able to make it Adrian Mannall will so there will be an ICT person. We will however be missing John Conway and Carlo Contaldi which is unfortunate. I think that we say the 15th unless anybody has any bright ideas. Please send items for the agenda. Best, david
