Hi for all people here, i need to ask about something i did not find how i know the unites used in Nektar, like in velocity in pressure i tried to use it it is amazing but i need to know when i have velocity field which unit i see also for pressure is it pascal bar dynes/cm2 i need to know, i checked the user guide not clarify this point, i checked tutorials one of them the graph of the pressure is in dynes/cm2 i don't know which unit i can have and where we can define like Si system unit or something. thanks
Hi Moto, I all depends on how you set up the mesh and the inflow conditions. If you set up the geometry of your problem to have a unit length and you set the inflow velocity to be one then you will likely have a non-dimensional setup. For the Incompressible solver we solve for “kinematic” pressure which is pressure divided by density. However if you set up your mesh in physical units and then specify the inflow conditions in physical units then you need to interpret the pressure and other velocities in the same units. So there is no consistent way to answer your question. Cheers, Spencer.
