If someone have succeeded at installing Nektar++ in this Ubuntu version, could you please tell me what you did so it can work? I installed the C++ compiler, CMake, BLAS/LAPACK and Scotch and nothing. Any help will be extremely appreciated!!
Hi Octavio, It looks like this is a result of the updated version of gcc being used in Ubuntu 20.04. This issue was highlighted by another Ubuntu 20.04 user on the mailing list a few days ago. I assume you’re using the Nektar++ 5.0.0 release, downloaded from https://www.nektar.info/downloads/ <https://www.nektar.info/downloads/>? This release was made sometime before the release of Ubuntu 20.04. The issues with building on 20.04 have been resolved in the Nektar++ GitLab repository <https://gitlab.nektar.info/nektar/nektar> and the fixes for Ubuntu 20.04 will be included in the next release. In the meantime, your options are to build the code from the latest master branch on GitLab (see the “Clone the git repository” part of section 1.3.1 in the Nektar++ manual <http://www.nektar.info/downloads/file/user-guide-pdf-4/>), or to disable the warning that is resulting in this error. I’d recommend trying to build with the latest source and letting us know if this is successful. If you encounter further problems, we’ll need a little more information to be able to provide some more concrete advice. It would be great if you could provide us with the CMake command that you’re using to run the configuration and the version of gcc/g++ on your Ubuntu 20.04 system as a start. We can then try to offer further assistance. Kind regards, Jeremy
