Conversion of large .xml mesh file to HDF5 format.
CAUTION: This message came from outside Imperial. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognise the sender and were expecting this email. Hello, I am trying to convert a large Nektar++ XML mesh file to HDF5 format using : NekMesh large_mesh.xml large_mesh.nekg The mesh size is of the order of (10^6) elements, and the conversion is failing. I suspect it may be due to a memory issue while reading/parsing the large XML file. I have also tried to run this conversion in parallel mode using srun --mpi=pmix(the HPC setup uses slurm), but there are a lot of warnings/errors printed on the screen. However, I see that in this parallel run there is a .nekg output and I am not sure whether it is correct. Has anyone encountered this before, or is there a recommended workflow for converting very large XML meshes to HDF5 without requiring extremely large memory? Any advice would be appreciated.
