Dear users,

I don't have a complete answer to this question but I am trying to do a similar thing: I have a convective heat transfer problem and I want to evaluate the integral of the normal derivative of temperature along one boundary (Nusselt number).

Ideally I'd like to do this at regular intervals during the simulation but there does not seem to be a filter that does this.

I have been able to compute the Nusselt number for individual simulations (I use fieldconvert -m gradient, see p.96 of v5.0.0 user guide, then I export a 1D cross section of the data at the boundary via ParaView and do the quadrature myself) but I wonder whether there is a more efficient method that's more "internal" to Nektar++?

One other question I have: does the scalargradient option in fieldconvert give the normal derivative at the boundary?

Many thanks,

Ed Threlfall.

Dear sir:
I am using netkar 4.5 for natural convection problem. I want to know how to monitor the  heat flux or momentum flux along some boundary region.

Regards
