This release includes a number of significant new features, including:

- Compression of mesh data;
- New libraries: NekMeshUtils and GlobalMappings;
- New modules and features in the post-processing FieldConvert tool;

along with a whole host of fixes and improvements in both the libraries and solvers. There are also now packages of Nektar++ for OS X.
