Hello Henrik,
Thanks for pointing out to the right example and I will use it to check if it works for my needs. I want to record the pressure data on the wall every few time-steps.
Regards,
Ishan

Hi Ishan, hi syavash,
I just tried that the FieldConvert "extract" module is working under Nektar version 5.5.0.
As for debugging, you could compile the code in Debug to get a more detailed error message. Also, make sure that the boundary region you are trying to extract is defined in the session file.
You can test it by running the test file CylFlow2D_FieldConvertFilter_Hdf5.xml and changing the FieldConvert filter. You can substitute "wss" with "extract". The file is here:
@syavash - I have not used the homplane module. Do you have a small test case that is failing?
Best wishes,
Henrik

Hi
I have a similar issue with the "homplane" module when used as a Filter during runtime. I get a Fatal Error indicating a file name is not specified.

Hello,
I am trying to use the “extract” module to sample some data on a boundary ID.
In standalone mode, the module works as intended but I am encountering segmentation fault while using it in FieldCovert checkpoints.
I am supplying the settings as a separate file and this is my setup:
<NEKTAR>
<FILTERS>
<FILTER TYPE="FieldConvert">
<PARAM NAME="OutputFile">session.fld</PARAM>
<PARAM NAME="OutputFrequency">2</PARAM>
<PARAM NAME="Modules">extract:bnd=1</PARAM>
</FILTER>
</FILTERS>
</NEKTAR>
Can someone please point out what ‘s wrong in this setup ?
Regards,
Ishan
