Judo AGM - Pippard Lecture Theatre - 7pm - Friday 9th March
Hi everyone, This year's AGM will be in PIPPARD LECTURE THEATRE (SHERFIELD BUILDING LEVEL 5), 7PM. FRIDAY 9TH MARCH. The available positions are listed below so please choose carefully if you wish to run for a position. Even if you're not this is your opportunity to shape the club and decide who will make the best captain/treasurer etc. The format will be everyone who wishes to run for a position will stand up and give a speech to everyone else on why they should be given the position, they will leave the room and everyone else will vote. Most votes wins. For those who have time we are also going for a meal afterwards, details to follow. POSITIONS: Club Captain Overall responsibility of the club, attends Union (ACC) and Sport Imperial meetings, delegates tasks to other clubs officers, liaises with BJA, sorts out everyone's problems, first point of contact for the club. Also gets the tankard in the Union! Treasurer In charge of finance. Has to attend one workshop of one hour at the beginning of the year to learn how to use the finance page on the union website, take money out of our union account and create products to buy by the members (like we did for the mat fees). He/she claims the money from the union when required by other officers. He/She MUST ensure that mat fees and membership have been paid by all members. Also responsible for securing the following years budget and dealing with sponsorship Secretary In charge of emails. Regularly checks emails on the club account (judo@imperal.ac.uk<mailto:judo@imperal.ac.uk>). Deals with various requests (eg:new member who wants to join the club and have a tryout session), updates the email membership list and deals with membership in general. Ensure smooth running of the club with the union, checks that meeting are attended, affiliation with both union and BJA (british judo associaion) is to date. In charge of minibus booking and room booking. Works closely with memberships manager Web Editor In charge of regularly updating the IC Judo webpage and Facebook page. Good IT skills would considerably help Social Sec In charge for all social events, in particular ACC Barnights and house parties, for ACC money and wristbands need to be collected and keep in touch with the current ACC Vice Chair Kit and Online Orders Secretary In charge of ordering team hoodies, gi's for those who need them and belts for those who have recently graded. Membership Secretary In charge of club membership requests, mailing list requests and contact details for all those who attend and voucher booklets from BJA. Competition Secretary Needs to be a very organised person. He/She is responsible for everyone's competition entries, getting names, license numbers, weight categories, and sending entries and money to tournament directors of each competition. Will need to work very closely with Club Captain, especially for BUCS. Team Captains (Men and Women) General responsibility for the club at competitions. Has to work closely with the Club Captain to ensure smooth running of the club. Needs to be an advanced player who has experience in judo tournament and can lead/coach players during tournaments. Checking times and fares of buses, trains when travelling around the UK or abroad.
