Dear all, The University of Sheffield International Student Teams XI will be held 22-24 February 2008. Teams from Belgium, Germany, Holland and all over UK will be participating in this event. Hence the competition experience will be good and there will be a fair number of fights for everyone. A highlight of the event is the party after the competition which has been fun over the last few years. The competition fees and transport will be paid for by the club. All you need to pay is £20 per person to attend the party. Lodging is free (bunking in sleeping bags in the dojo) and breakfast will be provided. If you are interested, please reply to this email latest by the 21st of January. Please include your name, dan grade and weight. However do note that you need to be a student and have a valid BJA license to compete in this event. I highly recommend this competition and hope to hear from you soon. The timing of the competition is intended to coincide with the build-up towards BUSA British Student Championships, and we hope that many British university teams will be using our event as part of their preparation. The teams participating in the competition usually represent a wide range of levels, which makes it a worthwhile and enjoyable event for everyone. For many players, it may also be interesting to compete in an environment of International Judo; which they may not have experienced before. While the level of Judo at this event promises to be enticing (in itself); it will also provide the opportunity to enjoy our sport on a more social level. With this in mind, the programme for the weekend will include a host of activities to unwind and relax after a hard day's competition. This is an opportunity to make new friendships between university clubs and lay the foundations for future competitions and social interaction.
