Hi all!

The British University and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Championships will be taking place in Sheffield on the 20-21 February! This is the biggest and most important Judo competition on our calendar so I hope everyone signs up!

Weigh-ins are on Friday night and we will travel there and back together.

There is an individual competition for Dan grades (1st Kyu and above) and Kyu grades, as well as a team competition. For the Kyu grades there is a minimum grade requirement of 4th kyu (orange belt). If you aren’t yet an orange belt but want to participate don’t worry! Speak to Me/Alvise/Glenn and we’ll see whether you can be promoted in time.

The weight categories are the standard IJF ones of:

Women

Men

U48

U60

U52

U66

U57

U71

U63

U81

U70

U90

U78

U100

Entry costs around £20 and you will have to pay transport and lodging costs, however we will see whether the club can subsidise some of it.

For more information see http://www.bucs.org.uk/page.asp?section=17488&sectionTitle=Championships or the attached pdf.
