Hi all, it's that time of the year again! Time for everyone to* elect a new committee *and end my reign of tyranny! So the proposed date for this is*Thursday 14th March *. The roles up for grabs are: *CLUB CAPTAIN* - involves the general running of the club, sorting out training times and hiring rooms, responsible for the well-being of the club, and nagging people to pay mat fees (*so whilst we're on the subject, if you haven't paid this term's mat fees - and I know there's a lot of you - please cough up!! See my previous email for the links*). Also has to organise club meetings and make the budget with the treasurer to ensure next year's union grant. *TREASURER *- responsible for the money of the club, sorts out paying for coaching and ground hire amongst other things, and processing transactions for the club (there are lots of training manuals to help you so don't be put off if you haven't had any experience before!) *SECRETARY *- involved in taking the minutes and liasing with London Judo to sort out any London officiating (for example, next year we are hoping to set up a London league - secretary would be involved in liaising with other clubs and sorting out dates) *MEN'S TEAM CAPTAIN *- involved in organising and helping choose the teams for team competitions. General motivation of training and competition-oriented judokas *COMPETITION SECRETARY - *responsible for finding out competition dates and getting people to enter competitions and sorting out travel to the various venues. *SOCIAL SECRETARY *- possibly the most fun job, responsible for organising various social outings and tickets to ACC nights, and making sure everyone is suitably drunk on these occasions! *WEB EDITOR *- responsible for making sure the IC Judo web page is up to date and has all the info on it that anyone wanting to join needs to know. Also responsible for putting up competition dates and results from competitions on the website *KIT BITCH (sometimes merged with secretary): *responsible for organising any kit purchases over the year such as hoodies If you want to speak to anyone about their role and what they've needed to do over the year, see the list of roles below: *Club Captain* - Alice Mitchell *Treasurer* - Matt Scales *Secretary/Kit bitch* - Guillermo Marrero-Samarin *Men's team captain* - Juuso Terava *Competition Secretary* - Phil Rudden *Social secretary/Web editor* - Christophe Wilhelm * If you're thinking about running for any of these roles, please let me know, and whether Thurs 14th March is a good date for you!* On a different note, please remember that there will be NO TRAINING NEXT FRIDAY (22ND FEB).
