Dear all,
It has been a great weekend and we were delighted to end on a good note with the girls’ team earning a well deserved Bronze. Overall I am glad of the performance of some of our young talent as this year’s event proved of a very high standard. The team secured a total of 5 medals proving it deserves its place amongst the country’s best university judo club. I have attached the report compiled by one ofAdam. The use the Budokwai proved to be very useful as we are now have ULU Judo and Middlesex Judo coming down to train with us on Wednesday afternoon. I hope to see all you freshers who were not eligible for this year’s BUCS to actively take part in university competition next year. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank coach Derek ‘Smudge’ for his support. He will be crucial in further developing the club next year and I am confident that he is the right person to prepare the players to do well on such a tough tournament.
As outgoing team captain, many thanks again to everyone for contributing to university sports over the years and I hope to see you all very soon.
Best wishes,
Edouard Desclaux
ICJC Team Captain
