Dear all,

In preparation for the forthcoming academic year Sport Imperial and The Spub are collaborating to implement a sporting social network to provide an online environment that will be accessible to all Imperial students, staff and alumni.

The purpose of this tool is to increase participation in sporting activity across the Imperial community and to provide a platform whereby users can interact with each other, create activities and search and join activities.  It is also a powerful tool which when used by sporting entities (such as clubs) can assist in advertising events, improving their event management activities, improving visibility and accessibility to the Imperial community and increasing their memberships.

This platform will be piloted during the last month of the academic year, the summer break and the beginning of the new academic year with a view to adopting the new platform on a permanent basis.

We invite members of groups and clubs participating in sports across the college community to join us on either of the following dates for a brief introduction and training.

Monday 24^th June – 5-7pm room 204 in the Central library (South Kensington Campus)

Wednesday 26^th June – 1-3pm room 204 in the Central library (South Kensington Campus)

This pilot stage of the collaboration is brought to you by Sport Imperial and The Spub and as a result will be provided for the Imperial community at no charge.  We are excited about the benefits that this collaboration will bring to all Imperial students, staff and alumni in improving sports participation and social activity through sports and encourage all to join us during the above dates to prepare you for the new sporting calendar.
