Hi everyone, Just a quick reminder about the London Uni Open competition on 26th November. It's our most local competition and great fun, from novices to black belts, and is a good starting competition whether it's your first or as the start of a warm-up for BUCS, so I need your entries in ASAP please! If you're reading this email and wondering whether you can be bothered to go find your judo license, now is definitely the time to do it! On the more social side, we will be going out for a meal at Wildwood (an Italian on Gloucester road: http://www.wildwoodrestaurants.co.uk/ ) this Saturday evening, a great chance for everyone to get to know each other better, and we'll be going for a pub crawl/union afterwards to continue the joviality, so email back if you want to come along so I know how many to book for! Hope to see loads of you there! On a more booze-related note, we have our first ACC night this Wednesday, for those of you who have just come it's the raucous drinking that joins all sports clubs together, £7 for 4 pints, and free entry. Basically a great chance for a piss-up :) Theme this time is School Uniform, wristbands on the door. Hi guys, Just a reminder about the London Open Competition which is held in Brunel on the 26th November, £12.50 if you get your entries to me before 30th October, £15 thereafter. This was a great competition last year, lots of laughs and perfect for beginners and getting back into competition mode, so hopefully we can get loads of people entered! ULU Training this friday 14/10/2011

Hi Guys, A bunch of us are planning to head down to the ULU Judo Club this Friday. The session they offer is really good, a pretty intense workout and great practice. We're planning to meet in the Imperial Front Entrance (with the big glass front and pillars) at 18:15 on Friday. The ULU session is 19:00 until 21:00 so we'll get the tube as a group there. Hey guys :P Just in case you'd forgotten, the closing date for Southend International is this friday! It looks like it'll be a really good competition - we even get pretty badges for the back of our gis. As we're all adults ^_^ we'll be fighting on Saturday 29th October . All grades can enter - just make sure you have licence renewed. We'll be travelling by minibus so no need to stress about travelling down there. AGAIN you've had ALL of this information before! Hey everyone, First of all hope you had a great Fresher’s Fair, congratulations on getting into Imperial and thanks for coming to see us at Fresher’s Fair! If we didn’t say today we’re giving the first 25 beginners to sign up over £70 of freebies including: - Judo suit for £6 instead of £30! - FREE BJA License and Membership - FREE Grading - FREE Judo lessons Effectively, you can do the whole year of Judo for £45! ** BEGINNERS: Thursday 6 October – 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM – Ethos ** The title pretty much says it all! I’ll be standing in the main entrance, come say hello, just turn up in a loose fitting t-shirt and some tracksuit bottoms We’ll play some games, have a laugh and introduce you to Judo, if you like what you see then please sign up. Afterwards, we’ll go for a couple of pints in the union! ** ADVANCED: Wednesday 5 October – 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Budokwai ** For those of you who have graded or already know the basics, feel free to come to our normal training session at the Budokwai. Farewell to Smudge and Fresher's Fair

Hey everyone, I'm not sure if you're all aware, but our fearless leader Smudge is leaving us this year :( He will be at the Budokwai for the first Wednesday (5th) to hand over and then that's it. I'm going to organise a thank-you card for him as he's done so much for us over the past year, and I'm sure you'll all agree our judo has improved so much because of him. I will get it to the Fresher's Fair stand if you'd like to come and sign it so we can give it to him on the Wednesday. Which brings me to another point, on short notice sorry! Fresher's fair is this coming Tuesday 11am-4pm, Queen's Lawn, and we'd love as many people to come and promote Judo so we can get as many freshers coming as possible! Hope to see you all there!
