Hello all!
Just an error in the previous email: Monday's session is not 20:30-22:00 as stated in the previous email, but 20:00-21:30.
so the timetable is:
Monday 20:00-21:30
Wednesday 12:00-14:00
Friday 21:00-23:00
Sorry for the mistake
Regards
Lizzie Gray

Hello all!
A few things to cover in the email:
1. BUCS
2. Ecole polytechnique comp cancelled
3. Missing Gis
4. Mat fees and membership
5. Time table for this term
6. Judo hoodies
1. BUCS is on the 17th-19th of February and the deadline for registration coming up very soon. We need you to fill in this form if you wish to come: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd33nnqdlZIJLVR00U1surkhitzv7H95CV…
Please note that the last box is so that we are protected if you decide to cancel last minute (i.e. the day before and we have to pay regardless of if you come). We will let you know the approximate cost of the hotel etc. within reasonable time of the competition.
It is a brilliant competitions where we can fight and show how much better we are than every other university [😉] so do please come along. You need to be at least orange belt to compete by the date of the comp so do keep that in mind. If you have any queries do reply (not reply-all) to this email and we'll get back to you asap.
2. The Ecole polytechnique competition has been cancelled due to a lack of interest and a rising cost of Eurostar travel. Many apologies to anyone expecting to go.
3."Missing Gis": for those who signed up using the student voucher scheme and didn't get a gi or they got the wrong size, please reply with your size you require and your BJA registration number and we can get them delivered. (they just basically send us a box of assorted gis and we have to ask for anyone that doesn't get the right one)
- side note: anyone borrowing a club gi, please can you return it clean if you have your own and if you want to continue with judo please consider getting your own so we can have the club gis back for any new members.
4. Membership and mat fees: PLEASE PAY FOR THESE!!!!! Buy these here: https://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/activities/a-to-z/judo
We currently are behind on membership which costs us our grant and makes it more difficult to fund club activities and pay our coaches. It is technically a legal requirement for you to have membership for insurance purposes. We'll be checking who is attending so please just buy it... [🙏] onigaishimasu
5. Timetable: We are back to our original timetable
Monday 20:30-22:00
Wednesday 12:00-14:00
Friday 21:00-23:00
Please come regularly if you want to smash everyone at BUCS!
Sorry for the long email and I hope everyone's exams went well.
Yours,
Lizzie Gray
IC Judo Club Secretary
P.S. please check out our Facebook page, you can just click on the banner below. We may be looking into some club hoodies so keep an eye out.
