Hi guys! We will meet tomorrow at 12:50 in front of the library for the session at the Budokwai, those who prefer to go straight there, aim for a 1:30 start. Beginners session 18:30-20:00 at the Union Gym (Lvl 3 Beit quad), and Friday's advance session 20:00 - 21:30 Union Gym too. SOCIALS We will go for a beer after Thursday's training and we will stay at the union on Friday after training (we will not have to pay for it :P). Also, Muay Thai wants to have a combine martial arts social. We will be meeting at the Union this Wednesday around 8pm to celebrate Sports Night! It should be fun, Taekwondo might be there too. Join us there! Finally, we are organizing a BBQ so watch out for that! MEMBERSHIP For those of you who enjoyed the classes so far and want to join the club, please BUY YOUR MEMBERSHIP, since otherwise we cannot use our money! Strength and Conditioning programs

Hi all! New year is starting and we have a new S&C program ready, conducted by specialist at Ethos. This program is for those aiming to go to competitions and who are ready to commit to two sessions a week of the program, attendance and punctuality are crucial, and the sessions are Mondays 8 - 9 am and Tuesdays 12-13 or 13 - 14. Also, those attending S&C should be committed to the Judo sessions too. If you are interested, please reply to this email with your name, email and phone number as I have to compile a list. Judo Hoodies

Hey guys!! First e mail you get from the secretary/kit biatch this year, this time it is to do with the JUDO HOODIES we ordered last year. Due to a number of things (mainly kukri being slow answering), we don´t have them yet. However, this e mail is to tell you that they are on their way, the order has been placed and they will arrive shortly. When they do arrive I will send another e mail out with a date and place where they can be collected. Guys First things first, it would be great to see everybody tonight after training for a few (many) drinks in the Union. So if you are at a loss for what to do tonight join us. Next on the agenda, the first house party. Thore is offering to host a party, but it will probably be in a fortnight. I am therefore looking for people willing to let us use their house sooner. I would but i could maybe fit like 4 people in my place. So if you have a house and would like to invite our (remarkably well behaved) club in one night, drop me an email. Competitions!

Hi, For those of you who don't know me I'm Juuso, your competition secretary and men's team captain. Here is a list of upcoming competitions for the next year. If you want to compete, you need to have a valid BJA licence which you can get from their website (I'll be happy to help). We will set up union products for the payments and I'll send you separate emails about individual competitions as they get closer. Southend international: 27.10.-28.10. A nice competition, but you need to have your licence today to participate because I need to get the entries TONIGHT (no exceptions)! Send me an email with your: * name * weight category * actual weight * licence number * date of birth * grade * contact number so that I can call you tonight, if there are any problems with the entries S.U.K.T. Sheffield University Kyu-Grade Tournament: 3.11. A competition for kyu grades (ie. not black and brown belts). We haven't attended before, but should be good fun. If you are interested send me the same details as for Southend ASAP. London Unis Open: 24.11. An excellent competition for all grades taking place in East London. All should attempt :P. If you want to come send me the same details as for Southend ASAP. Warwick open: Usually two weeks before BUCS and thus good practice for it. Team competition and if I remember correctly individuals for women. BUCS: 22.2.-23.2. The highlight of the year: British Universities Championships. Teams and individuals. USIST: Last year mid-march. Team competition taking place in Sheffied with a great social after the fighting is done. I encourage even the beginners to join the competitions because they are simply amazing! Welcome everyone!!! Hope you all had fun at the freshers' fair today!! FIRST TRAININGS So first training for experienced students is TOMORROW Wednesday 2nd from 1:30 to 3 pm at the Budokwai (4 Gilston Road London SW10 9SL). We will meet at the library entrance at 12:50 so we can all go together (20 min walk) or you can make your way there directly. We will have some gis that you can borrow for the session but bring tracksuit bottoms and a loose top. We will go for a coffee afterwards! For Beginners, the first training is on Thursday 3rd from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Union Gym (Level 3 of Beit Quadrangle). Do not worry if you cannot make it this week, there is 3 more Taster Sessions on 10th, 17th and 24th and you DO NOT NEED to buy membership for it. Just wear tracksuit bottoms and a loose top and come along to give it a go! We will go for a beer at the union afterwards! MEMBERSHIP For those of you who are 100 % sure about joining the club already I would appreciate if you buy your membership ASAP so our finances stop being frozen.
