Dear all,
as you know this week is no practice as deadline week + willi is absent...
for those who are staying around london tfor xmas, here is the website of the Budokwai club at which some of us advanced practices in fulham rd. check out the website ,the beginners class on tuesday, thrusday (+ other times it think)are quiet good.
U don't want to be a member if it 's just for xmas break so you'll get charge quiete a bit (~8-10£) for the session but i guess it's worth it, really good experience to fight with new poeple! At the reception, just say you are from Imperial College Judo Club sent by ed or wilhem!http://www.thebudokwai.com/judo/seniors_16_years_adults/beginners_in…
As i have mentioned to some of you there is a tournmament in Paris held on the week end of the 6th of feb in Polytechnique (best engineering 'grande ecole' in France). There are unis coming from spain germany switzerland and french grande ecole of course to participate.
We usually take eurostar on friday night, tournament on sat all day, social on sat night and on sunday we get to go and watch day 2 of Grands Slam International Paris Tournament, which is one of the biggest tournament (World Cup) of the year besides of the usual World Championships and Olympic Games. It's held at Paris Bercy its an amazing atmosphere with the best fighters of the international scene coming over to fight. http://www.ffjudo.com/tpif/default_old.asp?id=1553
Eurostar back to london on sunday night.
The uni competition in itself is quiet good as it's in teams of 3 (thus not individual,// 2 persons need to win their own fight to win the overall fight) and there is a beginner tournament, an intermediate and a team of 4 for the black belt one as well. That's for boys and girls.
Whoever is interseted we could enter a few teams in the beginner tournament...
You have to tell me your interset so we can start making some teams with whoever wants to come, because we need to take eurostar ticket asap. If its done early enough, eurostar is 40£-6o£return roughly. The uni tournament entry fee+ accomodation for friday and sat night + food for whole sat and sunday morning is 50 euros
+25 Euros for the Paris International tournament ticket.
Take a look at the brochure if interseted, attached. :)
Let me know your interest by replying to this email to see who would be part of this!
That's it for now try to run/keep fit/gym a bit during the holiday, and get well drunk on new year ' eve!
Congratulation to everyone for the work and involvment put in this term, it's impressing...
